1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, it's not a real skin care recipe book., February 12, 2009
This review is from: Natural Beauty Recipe Book: How to Make Your Own Organic Cosmetics and Beauty Products (Paperback)
This book is clearly a marketing aid for the small number of suppliers listed in the Appendix. It is not a skin care recipe book. It's full of pretty pictures, but all it does is tell you what essential oil to mix in a ready made base - all of which you have to buy. It does not show you how to make any products in the sense that you have control over what goes in it. This book is ALSO a carbon-copy of another exact same book by the same publisher "Soap and Scent: Recipes for Natural Beauty" (they got me twice!) Clearly this is a marketing aid for the suppliers. Don't waste your money. You can find WAY more (and free) detailed recipes and information about hand-made natural beauty products.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was looking for, June 16, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Natural Beauty Recipe Book: How to Make Your Own Organic Cosmetics and Beauty Products (Paperback)
I was disappointed with this book because I was looking for a recipes that you could make from various fruits / veges etc. However this entire book consists of mixing together pre bought items such as essential oils and creams such as shampoo or lotion bases. Basically this book tells you to buy a whole bunch of stuff and how to mix it together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Natural Beauty Recipes, March 15, 2009

This review is from: Natural Beauty Recipe Book: How to Make Your Own Organic Cosmetics and Beauty Products (Paperback)
I found this book to be rather helpful for making organic beauty products especially bar soaps. If you are looking for a how to book with a large selection of wonderful choices of soap options, this one is fabulous. It has lots of photos and is very detailed. I was hoping for more options with face scrubs and body butters. If you want more than 1 or 2, this is not the book for you.
