12/22/2015. Having read at least 30 books on bed bug control, I can say that in many ways this book was the most informative because it accents the scientific side of bed bug infestations.* The author also lists a number of home remedies that I have not encountered before, such as the use of ultraviolet light, dehumidifiers, & the combination of portable heaters & fans to create a room temperature above 120 degrees that bed bugs cannot survive. The author also provides a number internet links to companies selling products to aid in bed bug eradification, such as safesolutions.com, theidealpesticide.com, & licergone.com. The author has the most impressive list of qualifications that I have found. This work is in the upper one percent of books I have read on this subject, & if I had to recommend one book to a person facing a bed bug infestation it would be this one. Jack Mackay.

___________
*For example, the author lists 10 diseases that bed bugs can carry, whereas most authors claim that bed bugs do not carry infectious diseases. He also lists 10 chemicals poisonous to humans that are commonly found in fabric softeners.

The book is short and full of information. I am scared to death of bed bugs infestations. I could have used some pictures and more in depth descriptions of what and how to locate bed bugs, although this book was a good start and introduction for me.
