5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a must have for any BodyBuilder's Library

3.0 out of 5 stars Natural Bodybuilding
I found this book a little to broad.
When it comes to bodybuilding i am old school.
Very simple movements Arnold style.

The nutrition tips are kind of sophisticated ( too many numbers and statistics) and the pictures are not so great either.

I use to bodybuild years ago and was discouraged by the drug use that was obviously there. After ten years I'm thinking about doing something I never quite accomplished; enter a show. I have a lot of books on the subject and I've read a lot through the years. I was so happy to see a book that was all about natural bodybuilding but I was still very skeptical. I've heard and read the term, "natural" from a lot of people but few have delivered. This book is clear and to the point and provides useful comparisons on the differences of natural bodybuilders to drug users. It explains how you have different limits than someone that uses enhancers.
I have a few books that I refer to whenever I'm trying to come up with a new program or if I just want to refresh my memory. When I read a book like this I will highlight certain key points. Things that I know will be good to look at when I go through the book again as a reference. This book is now filled with my highlights.
The paper quality is nice, which also makes for a good ref. book.

This book will be my guide for accomplishing my goal of a show.

Great book for any BodyBuilder!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book on bodybuilding available, August 8, 2006
This review is from: Natural Bodybuilding (Paperback)
This book is a must have for those who want to learn how to maximize muscle mass and minimize body fat naturally. The author simplifies the whole process of building a muscular body and provides the necessary information so that the reader can customize a program that meets their specific needs. I really appreciate the way the author addresses the nutritional needs of trainees with different metabolic rates. I am an endo-mesomorph (have a slow metabolism and store fat easily) and have successfully applied his advice on diet with great results. I am training to lose body fat and have lost 10 pounds in 9 weeks and 3 inches from my waist. It may not sound like much but it looks like 20 or 30 pounds. You may not want to be a competitive bodybuilder (I don't either) but you can still benefit from all the great training and nutrition advice. Real results only come through consistency in training and proper nutrition. Almost every weight training book is geared for steroid users but the information in this book is applicable to the drug-free athlete. This may be the only reference book you need. One word of caution however. The author discusses supplements and mentions ephedrine as a good fat loss aid, but I would advise you to avoid it because it can have negative effects upon your health. Even if you don't suffer serious side effects, coming off ephedrine will leave you with very low energy levels. Other than that this book is awesome.

4.0 out of 5 stars Usefull and informative, August 23, 2007
This review is from: Natural Bodybuilding (Paperback)
I am beginner, 40. I found this book usefull and informative on training exersises, routines and nutritions. Following the suggestions I get constant size increase. Each exersise is well described with safety suggestions and tips on effectivness; one exeption is "power cleans" is mentioned for shoulder routine but I could not find its descriptions so far. Multiple sample routines are well thought and work for me. In nutrition section I found informative how protein, carbs, fats work together. Body types are well described. Supplements are included in the book. Please consider that this is my first book on this subject.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book-Better training advice in other books, August 22, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Natural Bodybuilding (Paperback)
It is a good book to add to your library. I found the contest preparation to be the best part of the book and worth the cost of the book. The training advice is standard and I feel there is better in other books such Body Sculpting Bible and Extreme Muscle Enhancement.

This review is from: Natural Bodybuilding (Paperback)
This book is too basic for an intermediate or advanced bodybuilder. It is a good read for a newbie however.
