Customer Reviews

It's like a minor miracle.

I asked why the shampoo bottle was not labeled to watch for scratching or sensitivity and was told, "well we can't label everything!"
K. M. RICHARDS
It didn't even stun the things, none came off in the rinse and I saw many live fleas as I was drying and combing my cats.

THE ONLY BAD REVIEW HAS GOT TO BE SOMEONE WHO DIDNT KNOW HOW TO USE THIS STUFF OR THEIR PARTICULAR DOG WAS ALLERGIC. I highly recommend this stuff. It is the best I have ever found. We've used it on our 4 dogs and 7 cats for at least 3 years now. The trick to it is to put the shampoo on the animal while it is dry, let it sit for 5 minutes then rinse. We live in South Carolina where fleas and ticks are awful!! We noticed advantage, advantix, and frontline were no longer working and ended up with a terrible flea infestation on our farm 3 yrs ago. (we also raise horses etc. ) We tried EVERYTHING, including the pill for fleas which had to be ordered by the vet, very pricy for 4 dogs! I bought a $10 bottle of this stuff from petco and I have been hooked ever since. ITS A MIRACLE PRODUCT!! our flea infestation was over after a few short weeks. THE ONLY PERSON PROVIDING A BAD REVIEW FOR THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT SMART ENOUGH TO USE IT. BTW, one of our dogs is a AKC dachsund w a championship bloodline used for breeding, he has sensitive skin and has had no irritation with THIS shampoo, but he has problems with OTHER shampoos.

I actually bought this product at a B&M pet store because I had found a tick on my pup and wanted to be rid of it ASAP. While shopping, I google searched all the brands the store offered on its shelf and this seemed the most promising. Boy was I disgusted when I ran my finger through and scrubbed my pup's fur--there were 3 dead ticks that came off under my nails!!! I believe the key things to do here are to APPLY TO DRY COAT, work into a lather, and START FROM THE MUZZLE -> HEAD -> REST OF THE BODY. In the past I have used other flea shampoos and I've actually SEEN the ticks escape toward his nose. By then I wasn't even able to eliminate the ticks because my pup twists his head all over the place and... you get the idea. So start from the muzzle and work your way back!

The customer who gave it one star does not know what they're talking about. It clearly states on the bottle: "Sensitivity may occur after using ANY pesticide product for pets. If any signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water..."

I had great success using De Flea Pet Shampoo and De Flea Pet and Bedding spray on my two dogs. There was no sensitivity like with regular pesticides. But most importantly of all, the flea infestation and itching stopped immediately. It's like a minor miracle.

I LOVE this product!!!! I live in TN where fleas are horrible. After fighting the losing battle for many years, I found something that has saved me from using Vectra (a prescription spot application that costs $52 for 3 mos.) Frontline and Avantix were USELESS, I now only use drops in the summer months!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product!!

I have used this product in combination with Frontline Plus twice now. Neither product is working for my little Boston/Rat Terrier mix. It does work as a dog shampoo, so I'm not going to throw it away.

I have been washing his bedding, and mine, since his bed is on top of my mine, in hot water quite often. I am vacuuming every day.

I bought this based on the good reviews for it.

I'm using it precisely as directed. I thorougly saturated his coat with it from muzzle to in between the toes and worked it into his coat all over quite well and even left it on the second time for more than 5 minutes. Every milimeter of him was covered. He was not a happy camper, but he stood patiently while I let it soak.

I saw some fleas come off during the rinse, but after he was rinsed well and dried, he's still scratching all over. It's been a few hours now.

The first time I bathed him with the product, I saw fleas again the same night. He's just gotten the second bath (three weeks later and two weeks after his Frontline treatment). If I didn't have a hernia that prevents me from lifting him in and out of the sink, I would try this more often.

Of course, plain water would rinse fleas off him just as effectively. He doesn't have ticks, that's a much more difficult problem, but fleas do rinse off.

I did some research and it seems that there are rumors around that fleas are developing an immunity to Frontline, but I seriously doubt they've developed an immunity to this product, so I guess it just doesn't work.

Update 7/24/12:

I tried this shampoo again twice after the previous update. It is completely ineffective. I might as well have been using water alone.

Didn't do anything for ticks. Came in a plastic bag that was leaky. It does create lather as the other reviews stated....but there is nothing special to this shampoo that any over the counter shampoo wouldn't do. Again...does NOTHING for ticks!

Love this product. It kills the fleas instantly on contact and it's all natural, so it doesn't harm your pet.

This is one of the best shampoos I have ever used for fleas. Got rid of at least half of them on the first bath :) It doesn't really have a smell to it. The only thing I didn't like was it was watery/very thin. You do put it on your dog while your dog is still dry though, it works SOOO much better that way. I was able to give 2 medium sized dogs ( 43lbs and 48lbs) 2 baths each before running out. I think it would of went further if the formula was thicker.
