Even if you're not interested in a "natural" (i.e., non-medicated) childbirth, this book provides a very detailed and interesting description of what, exactly, labor is like.

For example, it will tell you what you are apt to experience at each labor stage both physically and emotionally. It also guides your partner in using various signs (e.g., your expression, ability to converse) to determine which stage you're probably at and, consequently, whether it's time to start driving to the hospital!

In addition to buying this book, we took a 10 week Bradley course. This book was very instrumental with the end of the chapter exercises for both mother-to-be and father-to-be. If a course is not a possibilty for you, this book is a must in helping you achieve the best form of natural childbirth out there. I had 3 healthy babies naturally and drug-free. It can be done and Bradley is the most "in tune with your body" way to do it. This method has nothing to do with heavy breathing, but the opposite...controlled and rhythmic breathing keeping you in tune with every feeling your body is experiencing and why it is happening. Bradley helps not only with teaching the dangers of an epidural, but also pitocin. Furthermore, Bradley reassures that if mom is ok and baby is ok, then little intervention is needed.

This is a great book. Really gives the guy some perspectives on what to expect, even more than the girl expects. Has nude photos and drawings in it, so I would watch who gets their hands on this book.

I recieved this product just as it was listed. It is a great book. I would recommend any mother to be or father to be read it. Very haplful!
