It did a better job than the more expensive comforters we had in the past.

It's the exact size that was listed on the product page, so it fits inside the duvet cover just right.

You can barely feel the weight of the comforter and yet the warmth is very satisfying.

I was concerned about buying a comforter/duvet insert online because how would I know if it was the right weight? I took the chance with this one and I am very pleased with it.
When I took it out of the packaging, I thought it was going to be way too lightweight for our needs because it felt thin. We keep our furnace low at night (65 degrees) and I still need to turn back the comforter at times. You can barely feel the weight of the comforter and yet the warmth is very satisfying.
The size is appropriate to fit inside a king-size duvet cover nicely (check your measurments, they are not all the same size). The fabric is soft and pliable with 9" squares of quilting to hold the filler in place.
Overall quality seems to be very high with this product.

I purchsed this comforter after discovering that I have dust mite allergies. I have to say, from the first night I put this comforter on the bed, I have not had ***any*** more issues with itchy red eyes and a stuffy nose upon waking in the morning. Just for that I am giving it 5 stars!

Now for the product - as other reviewers have stated, it is a deceptively lightweight comforter. I was very skeptical that it would keep me warm. We live in a snowy region and I use a mattress heating pad to keep warm (since the thermostat drops to 65 at night). Well, I am happy to report that the comforter does keep me as warm as our previous one, and I don't even need to use an additional blanket on my side of the bed!

The outer material is 100% cotton, but is woven so finely that it feels more like nylon or polyester. It does have a slight crinkly or sliding sound when you move it but it doesn't bother me. I put it inside a comforter cover so I don't have to wash the comforter as frequently. The comforter does have loops at the corners so you could tie it to a cover, but unfortunately my cover doesn't have any ties. However we haven't had any issues with the comforter bunching inside the cover.

We have a queen bed but purchased a king size comforter and cover. This was totally the right decision, since the comforter only extends down halfway to the floor as it is. I can't imagine how we would make a queen size work.

We have only had this comforter a short time but I am happy with it and I wish I had bought it months ago. I would probably have chosen a heavier weight if I'd had a choice, but in fact it works just fine. I hope that it continues to work as well after washing (which I haven't tried yet).

Buyer beware: the comforter is cheaply made and will fall apart after washing.

I bought this hoping it would help with my dust mite allergies. Initially, the comforter helped with my dust allergies. After a few days, however, frustration and disappointment began.

The problems began the first time I washed the comforter (on gentle cycle cold, as per instructions). After washing, little pieces of 'down alternative' starting coming out of the mattress and covering my bed and room. Now hundreds of them are covering my sheets and pillows.

Hopefully this is something that only occurs with the first wash. However, if this continues to occur, I will likely return the comforter due to shoddy manufacturing.

What I suspect is that the other more positive reviews on this listing were posted prior to the purchaser's first washing of the comforter. Another explanation could be because others have white sheets. I have tinted sheets which make the hundreds of little bits of comforter show up more clearly.

I will update my review as my experience with this comforter evolves -- so far it has been negative.

UPDATE:

It has been 7 days. Small pieces of 'down alternative' used to stuff to comforter continue to shed all over my sheets. I woke up with them this morning on my face. It has gotten to the point where I am using a lint brush on my sheets.

FURTHER UPDATE:

It has been a few weeks. I contacted Amazon and ordered a replacement comforter. With all the kind reviews on here, I assumed it must be a defect the specific comforter that I purchased. After washing the NEW comforter again only ONCE, the same disintegrating fluff came out onto my sheets. A piece of fluff got even stuck in my eye overnight while I was sleeping and I woke up looking like I had an eye infection.

I would advise my fellow Amazoners to avoid this comforter due to its overpriced cheap manufacturing.

I didn't have unrealistic expectations for how a $70 King size down alternative comforter would look as compared to a $400 overstuffed goosedown one, so I'm perfectly pleased with this product. It's the exact size that was listed on the product page, so it fits inside the duvet cover just right. It's puffy for what it is. It has baffle boxes, which is a great feature for keeping the "feathers" evenly distributed. Plus, it's machine washable!

I bought this as an insert for a duvet cover. When I first unpacked it I was concerned that it would not have that lofty fluffy appeal that a nice comforter has on a bed, as it looked a bit on the thin and lighter side. It was a PERFECT fit for my duvet cover and is great to sleep under, as it provides enough warmth without being heavy and looks great on my bed. I'm glad I didn't have to spend alot of money to get what I wanted.
