Not exactly what expected,
This review is from: Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About (Mass Market Paperback)
The book is everything but not exactly what you would expect to get judging by the title. Kevin Trudeau constantly refers to his website where one supposedly would get full explanation for various topics. The only problem is that no one can get any explanation free of charge. Once you land at the website, you will realize that there is almost nothing that you could learn unless you come up with some kind of payment! Otherwise the book has some valid and valuable information. However, there are many other books at the market that discuss natural cures, stress reduction methods, proper nutrition, proper breathing techniques, yoga, etc. They are often not only much more informative but at the same time also cheaper. Just look around Amazon and you will find them. I find the best alternative to "Natural Cures" are books by Mikhail T. such as Cure the Incurable, or a longevity book titled Can we live... They are absolutely noncommercial and full of useful info. In addition, their website is not only free of any charges but also provides some free ebooks on other health issues.

WARNING!!! DO NOT GIVE NATURAL CURES YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO!!!,
By Beth (San Diego. CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About (Mass Market Paperback)
The Natural Cures/Kevin Trudeau company stole money from me!!! Even if you are not buying this book from the infomercial, do not give this man any more money as he is a thief and scam artist who is being pursued by the government on Fraud charges. Once his company gets your credit card information (for their "free" newsletter that was offered with the book) they conveniently keep charging your card long after cancelling your order. I tried to cancel numerous time because I did not want it in the first place but they never did. This company charged me multiple times and refused to give me credit. Finally my credit card company had to get involved because Natural Cures found no record of my multiple requests to cancel what I did not order. The company still refused to refund all my money!
Now, after 6 months, they have started charging my credit card again and are giving me the run around about refunding it. I contacted them over a month ago and they are still telling me it will take another 30 days for a refund for something I did not order. Be wary of this man and this company!

A Balanced Review.,
By Robert Frost "that black SMU chick" (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About (Mass Market Paperback)
Okay, I am going to give you a balanced review.
Now, first of all, yes. I want you to buy this book. However, do NOT give Kevin or his company your information. I got telemarketers for a month and they would sneakily tell you that they will take money from your account until you call in to say you want to cancel your subscription. Either you aren't listening to hear them say that because they say is extremely fast and if you ask the person what that was about, they kind of try to lie about it or you heard it and figured you would call, but naturally, you are not going to remember. Second of all, Kevin is annoying. I do not like this guy. I don't like that half of his book is just him bitching about FTC. Talking about the industry is good. It is something that smart people know and regular people should know. Big businesses want money. They don't care about you. And smart people know that food companies put things in their food. Smart people know that drugs only treat symptoms and not the problem and can create more problems as side-effects! You should already know this, but if you don't, this will clue you in. I just do not like how after he explains this, he continues to bitch about it throughout the book. It makes the book have a resentful tone. Third of all, this is not a book with lists of natural soups and crap to make and cook. There is a few in here, however, mainly, what this is is... telling you the causes of disease and what you should do naturally to fix it. Ideally, you will do EVERY or MOST of the things in this book and be sickness free. This book is a GREAT starter if you are into natural beauty and health! I have ADD. I tried half of the things he says to do for ADD already, okay? So at first I was like "ugh, bs" but I started taking acidophilus for the candida overgrowth that may be causing my ADD. People... I went to class the next day (I like to take supplements at night because sleep is when your body does the most inner work)... I ... Could not believe it. I was actually FREAKED OUT. I was paying attention to class. I heard EVERYTHING the professor said for the first time in my life, there was no gap in my notes... no gap in my thought processes. Let me just say that when I was 15, I realized that junk food isn't real food. This was the beginning of my natural journey. THen I realized that my facial creams and hair products were not working on my dry skin and hair. In fact, it felt like they were formulated so that I would HAVE to continue using the product to "fix" my problem. I switched to natural items or companies like LUSH an for the first time my skin problems are gone or leaving! My hair feels soft all day for the first time. At this point, I was starting to wonder what else natural wonders could do for me. After this ADD thing, I am absolutely convinced and i have this book to thank for giving me some more natural options to start getting into. But please, please, do not stop taking your medicines. Because when you do natural remedies, you have to do everything in order to be disease free. It takes a long time to do "everything"! It takes a while to do the cleanses. To start eating organic. To do this. To do that. There are some natural remedies that are relatively immediate. But if you are taking medicine for seizures or something serious, do not stop taking your medicines until you have made a complete switch. If your problem isn't so serious, you can experiment as you go along and see if one cleanse or one supplement was all you needed. I mean, basically, know that this stuff he talks about works, but do not be a freakin' idiot, okay? So in summary... I dislike Kevin T. I think he is still a money making schemer. I do not trust him. I have his other book which is a complete waste of time. The first part was a complete "WTF???" trip. But this Natural Cures book changed my life. The stuff he talks about are things that you've heard in passing... "get a water filter" "They are putting stuff in the meat" and you think "okay whatever sure" but... I dunno. This just gives me a big "Yeah, girl, you should have listened a long time ago!"

Very poor. Save your money...,
By Diana Barnum (Hilliard, OH USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About (Mass Market Paperback)
If you absolutely must take a look at this, as I felt compelled, check it out at the public library first. Very, very poor content. He offers simpleton solutions of his own that are absurd and he's simply not an authority on the topics he mentions, like how to handle spam.
This may be a rude awakening for the author, but sounds like he's into that so here goes: if you're going to compile a book based upon interviewing others, step up to bat and offer their credentials and quotes and reference their works, not your website in every other paragraph, and your "thoughts." You are not the authority, and no one wants to read your `thoughts.' Package those in an essay book or other format, if you like, but you're putting too many eggs in one basket, and yours are rotten. If you're going to knock everything and everyone under the sun for advertising their products, stop advertising yours in every paragraph, too. Otherwise shut up. And if you hate the USA so much, we'll all be more than happy to see you go. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, or `gasp' I'm sure there'd be a book about it from you to let everyone know....sigh......along with all your self promotions in every paragraph. ... Readers: note this is worth all negative stars, but Amazon does not have that option. Do not buy, is my advice. If you must check it out, do that with a library card and on the spot, because after even just two minutes of glancing through any topic and you'll place it back on the shelf. Pure garbage. There are no cures listed here, just pure junk and links to his cure website.

Opinion from a Registered Dietitian/ Scientist,
By
This review is from: Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About (Mass Market Paperback)
As a Registered Dietitian and a research scientist I highly DISCOURAGE anyone from purchasing any of the books he has published. Some of the material this book has some small glimmer of the truth it may have once been based on, but is twisted out of context to make the results. From my credentials (something he lacks), one should note I am not a "drug company trying to discourage natural cures." Proper nutrition does make a HUGE impact on disease states, but should not be used with all diseases since sometimes this can result in adverse affects and even DEATH due to interactions or unchecked progression.
Another key problem with his book. Most of the diseases can not be "cured" with the use of one single herbal supplement. The diseases he states, such as scurvy, are known to be easily treated, but others can actually be worsened by use of high doses of vitamins or herbal supplements. The use of a supplement WILL NOT CURE Diabetes Mellitus (DM)!!! Type one DM is caused by the death of a specific cell type (pancreatic beta cells) which prevent the body from PRODUCING insulin. If the body is not producing it, nothing you ingest can be converted in large enough quantities to sustain the body's needs. Type two DM is due to tissue resistance to insulin and CAN BE CONTROLLED by diet, but only with a proper diet and exercise... NOT SUPPLEMENTS ONLY! Second point he makes is that the FDA doesn't want herbals to be sold because they "cure" aliments. This too is a fallacy. The herbal products themselves are not regulated by the FDA, only the label which states claims since they are often NOT BACKED BY REPUTABLE RESEARCH! Some things do work and I myself to take some supplements from time to time for infections (such as cranberry juice for a urinary tract infection), but you must be very careful when purchasing these products. Since they are not regulated, they do not actually have to contain the product they advertise in the quantities they advertise (or at all in some cases. Being a natural product, the concentration will naturally vary by plant and therefore by batch. This book is highly dangerous and SHOULD NOT BE PURCHASED. There are several much better books out there and if you are interested in more information ask your Doctor to refer you to a REGISTERED DIETITIAN (not a nutritionist, this is not a legally defined term, so they do not have to have any training). The author is correct that most MD's do not have an in-depth nutritional background, but ALL Registered Dietitians do (as a requirement for the credential we must have at least a Bachelors, have completed and passed an internship and a registration examination similar to a bar exam). ** As recommended by an individual who commented: I view this book as dangerous because it urges people who have to take insulin in order to properly remove nutrients from their circulation to go off their medication and use herbal supplements to treat their condition. Without the use of insulin (in type 1 DM) the patient's blood glucose will quickly rise, causing ketosis. Before long the pH of the blood changes (because of the release and production of ketones by the body) resulting in metabolic acidosis. This condition as well as an osmotic difference due to the build up of glucose causes very dangerous symptoms. High blood glucose and acidosis are shown to cause a variety of pathologies which could result in at the very least dizziness and fatigue, at the worse, it can cause neuropathy, coma or even death. While I DO believe a healthy lifestyle can DRASTICALLY decrease the risk of chronic disease, can reduce blood pressure and in the case of type 2 DM can even help an individual return to a normal life, I do not think this book is the best place to go for answers. For those interested in more homeopathic treatment, good luck, but please look elsewhere for guidance.

Dangerous nonsense,
By Francis Xavier (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About (Mass Market Paperback)
Such a shame. I saw the book advertised on TV and was intrigued. But within the first few chapters I began to question some of the logic. For example, from Chapter 2 "Consider this--animals in the wild such as chimpanzees do not get sick!" ... at which point I thought, erm, yes they do? Then, as I was asked to consider more and more "startling bits of data" that were clearly suspect I started to get really suspicious about about the author and the authenticity of what I was reading. So I Googled him. I suggest before buying this book you read his Wikipedia entry. That, and other references, have made me decide to throw this book in the recycling, and satisfy my interest in naturopathy from an author who's much more legitimate.

If you plan on getting this book, you better also plan on getting another book, since all he lists as for his "natural cures" is "Dr. Caldwells stress reducing techniques", whatever that might mean. And his "cures" for diseases are more of his personal opinion than things that are actually practical, example: for depression he suggests "taking long walks each day and looking far away" and also says that the cause is unknown. I am a freshman at UW-madison and I could have researched this book better than he did. The cause for depression is a seratonin imbalance in the brain, along with other chemicals, which I know just from taking a psych class in highschool, so to say that the cause of depression is unknown is just ridiculous. I bought this book for the "natural cures" and was very disappionted. I'm sure what he has to say in the rest of the book is interesting and possibly even true, but if you are buying this for some cure that the government isnt telling you about, don't bother, it won't help.

This review is from: Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About (Mass Market Paperback)
I purchased this book when it first came out. Disappointed extremely from the contents of this book. The information provided was not helpful. The book often referred you to other books, journals and reviews. If you have at least 730 days to read and research the reference material provided by the author, I guess it ok. There is no way I would recommend this book or any other book by Kevin Trudeau.
I started to purchase Debt Cures they dont want you to know about. It was then I discovered the author was the same person who wrote: Natural Cures they dont want you to know about. I stopped and realized the person has nothing to say and it is not worth loosing your money. Any book by Kevin Trudeau you purchased at your own risk, I certainly would not purchase another book by this author.

Rip-off,
This review is from: Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About (Mass Market Paperback)
Author complains about false advertising, but then engages in some of the most misleading advertising himself. He states he provides cures, but you go through 12 chapters of nonsense and government bashing, to only have him tell you in the last chapter -- where he is supposed to reveal the cures -- that he can't tell them to you unless you joing his website membership, paying an extra fee. What a crock. Total waste of money. Don't buy it. Trudeau is the master of the bait and switch.
