Cheap bass guitar,
This review is from: New Natural Electric Acoustic Bass Guitar W/ Equalizer
I don't see why so many people are giving this positive reviews, I guess my expectations were just too high for such a cheap price on an instrument.I made a dumb move and sold my old bass which was $600. I missed the bass and decided to buy this as a cheap alternative so I could at least practice, plus I thought it'd be cool to try an acoustic. Unfortunately like the majority of items Ive bought, The more money paid the better quality received. My first impressions upon looking at it were good, A normal sized bass, completely polished. When I examined it better I noticed it had some minor blemishes where the neck meets the frame, some small paint chips on the higher frets, Also the wooden piece on the body that holds the strings was unpolished which looks a little cheaper. Still the blemishes are small and the majority of people wouldn't notice them, especially if they're just watching you play. So the look of the bass is about a 4/5 When I started playing it, I was immediately disappointed. The tone wasn't as professional as I'd hoped, It sounds a bit cheap and boring. The worst thing to me is the tension of the strings are too loose. Not so loose that there flopping around but definitely loose enough that its going to annoy a bassist with some experience. A first timer may actually prefer this but your better off in the long run having a stronger tension in the strings. You'll move faster and it'll feel and sound better. I bought new strings thinking maybe the manufacture could only afford really cheap strings with this model. But after paying $20 for new strings and trying them on it makes no difference. The tones slightly different but they're still lose and it sounds cheap. This bass won't appeal to the majority of people. If you or your child is new at bass I can understand the attraction to this bass because of the price. Its half the price of most starter models and you don't need to buy an amp, so for a small minority of people it might work. For a brand new musician this might suffice for 6 months or so. Its sturdy enough to practice on. The only thing to consider is if the sound quality isn't as good, you may not be as encouraged to play. It might seem like I'm being harsh, maybe I am considering the price I suppose its nice that an option like this is available. If your a bassist with some experience who is tempted to buy this as a cheap acoustic for some variety, or a guitarist who wants a bass, Don't buy this. It's worth forking over $200-$300 for a starter bass that is more fun to play and has a good solid sound that's worth using and practicing on.

Not a terrible instrument for the price!Pros: Looks great Electronics are nice, sounds good plugged in Tone is decent - not the same tone as a nice, more established guitar brand but not awful either. Cons: It's a cheap guitar, plain and simple. String tension is not high enough. There is definitely some clanging in the low end. Guitar body is not nearly big enough to produce a nice loud acoustic sound - a little quiet for acoustic purposes. In summary, I bought this guitar as a practice instrument (I play 6 string regular guitar, but have begun playing bass in a local band for fun) and as a practice instrument it's great! Also nice for little acoustic jam sessions with other instruments. It is what it is - a $65 guitar. Don't expect superb craftmanship and beautiful tone, but if you want a 'banger' acoustic bass for practice and campfire jam sessions then this is your bass.

I'm still scratching my head wondering;"How can they offer this guitarat such a low price?" No ,this isn't a brand name, solid wood, high quality guitar, but, it is a very good sounding bass when it is played through an amp. The EQ works well to fine tune a very nice "natural acoustic" sound. The saddle and fretboard could use a little linseed oil, as it seemed a little dry when it arrived. Also, the side "cutaway" section of the guitar seemed to be slightly neglected when it came to the gloss finish but both are easy fixes. The guitar unpluged offers a nice volume level for practice, especially when your wife is in the next room reading her Kindle. Hey, it's an acoustic/electric bass with EQ (bass boost, mid, treble and presence), nice tunning keys, adjustable truss rod, cheap cord and 1 pick all for $85.00! Well worth the cost. Rick

I have been playing acoustic guitar for a while and wanted to try bass. This product is good because it is of good quality. The only flaw is that some cacophony at several fret.

Really nice bass. It got here a lot faster than i thought it would. Pros and ConsPros Sounds really good when you plug it into an amp. Really neat and polished. EQ works great. Cons Fret board unpolished. If your playing the strings will sometimes hit the fret board. The tunning knobs move when you barely touch them. But its a really good bass a i recommend it. |
