I rated the packets already because I have both the packets and the container they are the same thing. The container I keep at home and the packets are awesome for travel and keeping them in my purse. This product really works. I heard about this from a coworker whose husband is a dr. She gave me a couple packet to try and was amazed at how well it helped with my hunger. I had been hungry ALL the time and craved sweets like there was no tomorrow and after the 1st packet it was gone. The granules are a little strange and might be hard for you to get use too at first, but they don't have any flavor. The trick is to drink them really fast before the start to expand in liquid then drink a lot of water after. I usually put them in about 8oz of water drink fast and then drink another 12-20oz of water on top. The granules have helped regulate my hunger, make me actually feel satisfied when I eat, extremely reduced cravings(I have been using the crave and relax in conjuction with the granules), no more bloating and I notice that mind is clearer. I wrote all about this in the packet review as well and the crave and relax review. I really love this product and it has answered my prayers. I will update in a month or so for more detail! I was a little apprehensive about this but good reviews helped me to try it so I wanted to add my positive experience with it. It definitely helps to fill you up and I have experienced FAR fewer cravings while taking it. I'm eating less, craving less and it certainly keeps the bowels moving! I only take about a half-scoop, a little while before I eat, I find that to be very effective. Any more than that and the bowels move TOO much, for me. It will give you stinky gas, that's definitely a down side. And for awhile I was so bloated from gas that my clothes were tighter, which was discouraging. That went away after awhile though - a week or more.

The only bummer about this stuff is finding a way to take it. The best thing I've found is applesauce. If you decide to mix it in water, don't do a full glass - I've found it's easier to mix it into a small cup of water or juice and just gulp it down - it doesn't have any flavor, but it absorbes the water REALLY fast so you have to do it immediately or else it get gloppy and the old gag reflex reacts! Mixing it in applesauce is great because it doesn't really change it, especially if you eat chunky applesauce anyway. Yogurt is alright but it makes it really tapioca-ish so if you have texture issues don't try that. Once, though, I mixed it with vanilla yogurt and strawberries and ate that on buttered toast - that was really yummy and I didn't notice the texture of the granules in the yogurt. I even put it on a sandwich once at lunch time, just mixed it in with the mustard and mayo on the bread. I didn't notice it at all, the only downside was that I got full faster so I didn't finish my sandwich! :) I've mixed it in with a smoothie but I found that a lot of it sticks to the side of the blender, then sticks to the glass, so you lose a lot that way. Mixing it in to the jam on toast worked well for me, too.

Anyway, I definitely reccommend this product! I have mild PCOS and finding something that wasn't DRASTIC, but that helped me control my appetite and cravings has been really great.

I have "normal" blood sugar but occasionally (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) enjoy too much candy so I thought I'd try this. Dr. OZ gave it a thumbs up. It "Lowers Glycemic Index is Gluten Free and Reduces appetite".

According to directions PGX needs to be timed around medication use.

"If taking medication, take one hour prior to or two hours after taking PGX".

This may be a problem for some people who take medications throughout the day but PGX is taken only once a day, before a meal. Most people should, hopefully, be able to work around that.

Directions suggest mixing the granules with yogurt, cereal, smoothies, juice or soup and then drinking an 12 ounces of water.

I didn't like using juice or anything cold. It's too difficult to mix. It clumps.
My favorite is hot coffee. It's just easier. There are little "beads", like tapioca pudding that don't dissolve but that's the whole point.

Even with 1/2 a scoop I felt fuller after eating less. A Miracle for me!

This container is only 5.3 ounces but the scoop is small and you only use one a day.

I'd say give it a try. It's an easy heath aid.

March 24,2012 Update: I found a new, DELICIOUS way to enjoy this. I put a scoop in a cup of coffee with creamer but then, I was called away. When I came back, it was solid! Kind of like Jello or a thin tapioca pudding. So, I added some cinnamon, Stevia and walnuts. I topped it off with whipped cream and had a PGX Sundae!! That's probably NOT how it's supposed to be used but to me it's a Super Healthy Dessert and life is short so why not?

I have been using the granules for 4 days so far. I have been taking them 2 times a day with A LOT of water. I give this product 5stars it has been working wonderfully for me. The granules seem strange at first I just put them in water and drink fast with atleast 20oz of water. (also got the crave and relax which I will review seperately, but have to say I really like them as well) The biggest changes I notice so far are the following. I am not nearly as hungry as I had been, I feel satisified much sooner when eating or should I say I actually feel satisfied, I havn't been craving sugar or sweets at all (I had been getting major sweet cravings at night and this has disappeared), I am feeling regular as well no more bloating and the strangest thing I notice is that my mind feels clearer I don't know if this is related to the slimstyles or if it's because I havn't been eating the sugar it must be a combination of both! Good luck I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

I've had this product now for a couple of months and use it about 2-3 times per week. It works amazingly well. It also has no taste so it goes down easily. Each small spoonful contains 5 grams of fiber. It's the best fiber supplement I've ever tried.

These granules work well if you mix them with yogurt or applesauce. It gives yogurt a tapioca-like consistency and it doesn't noticeably change the texture of applesauce. Don't try mixing with greek yogurt though - use regular yogurt. Reason being, it gets really hard - almost cement-like. For people who complain about the granules not mixing well in liquids, I would highly recommend the yogurt or applesauce alternative. I have also tried the pgx capsules and do not at all recommend them. The pills are huge and it's hard to get down 6 of them - the amount recommended before meals. I say this as someone who doesn't have problems swallowing pills but 6 just seems excessive and they feel like they are sticking in your throat even with lots of water. Plus, for whatever reason, I didn't think they worked as well at making me feel full as the granules did. The granules aren't perfect by any means but they do seem to curb my appetite for 2-3 hours which is a great help.

I purchased this product to see if it would aid in lowering my blood sugar numbers and it has done so. I have been taking it once a day since I have to fit it in with a lot of Rx's. Will try to fit it in twice a day in the future. Any weight loss for me would be a plus. It is easy to use and beneficial to my diet program.

I have been on HMR protein shakes for weight loss. After about a week you want something to chew on. What a nice surprise. Plus it helps keep my blood sugar stabe, making me a nicer person to be around while I am dieting.

Pros: it does make you full, it does help curb appetite, it does help with regularity
Cons: it does NOT mix well (mixing in applesauce helped), its thick and gritty, not worth the price
I decided to try this after seeing it on Dr. Oz show. I think I can get just as good results with Benefiber. I have not lost any weight but I have PCOS, with insulin-resistance, I'm trying to exercise more and stuggling with my diet. I have been taking it once a day. Someone recommend that I take it twice a day. So I will try that to see if it helps. Overall its so-so.

*UPDATE*
I bought another jar. I have lost 2 pounds. It really keeps you full for a long time. In the afternoon, I am NOT hungry. Sometimes, I have gone 8 hours without eating because I'm just NOT hungry. I have to eat a small snack because I know its not healthy to go without eating for hours. I take it before breakfast and before dinner. Also notice that I am not craving so many sweets. It still tastes terrible but I just gulp it down and follow with PLENTY of water. I'm still optimistic and hopeful it helps me to loose weight. I will update again after I am done with the 2nd jar.
