3.0 out of 5 stars Stability Ball
I don't love it. The texture is sticky, high friction might be a better phrase for that. Even if you follow the instructions you have to blow it back up to desired firmness fairly regularly.

I love the texture of the ball... it's slightly bumpy/rough-ish, not shiny or slippery and the colour is darker than I thought it would be, but I still love it. I use the ball as my office chair, like so many others are doing, and within the first few minutes my back was less achy and I was suddenly more alert. I am curious as to how much better the balls are inside the ball bases/stands that convert the ball to look more like a chair, but honestly, I think the ball does fine on it's own. It's also great for those boring moments at work when things are going slowly... I just start a little bounce and it puts a spring in my sit ;-).

I haven't had any problems with the ball deflating, but when I first pumped it up I thought it was surprisingly small... but that was because I didn't realise I could pump pump pump until it was larger (despite the "burst resistant" name, I was concerned that I would pump it too full of air and it would pop once I sat on it).

I highly recommend this ball to anyone who loves purple or wants to try out a ball for an office chair!

3.0 out of 5 stars Does not hold air very well, September 23, 2009

The Fitness Ball does not seem to hold air very well and I need to top it off almost every day to retain the level of firmness that I desire. Would recommend potential buyers shop around for a product that does not need this much attention.

3.0 out of 5 stars I bought this for an Office Chair - Not quite 65 cm, February 4, 2010

I followed the directions on this. letting it sit for 24hours. After pumping it up the next day with the accompanying hand pump (I'm a strong guy), it still is under 65cm. However, despite that, the height is pretty okay, while the firmness is solid.
Again, this is my new office chair. I'm 5'10 and it seems okay. Albeit a little disappointing that it didn't get as big as advertised. But that's the only disappointment. Color is great. Texture is great. And I'm helping the earth, because according the box I just helped plant a tree. ;-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great office ball!, April 13, 2010

I use this ball as my office chair. I was thinking I would switch off between my regular chair and the ball, but once I got on the ball, I haven't switched back. Not even once. It's fun to sit on a ball rather than a boring old chair. Plus, with a ball, you can bounce! I also do sit ups on it by pulling myself under my desk a couple times a day. It's nice to have a tiny workout any time I want. If I'm bored with something or sleepy, I just do a few sit ups, or bounce and I'm alert again. I've found that the ball is also a great way to crack my lower back - which feels great.

Even though there is a professional version of this ball, the only difference I can see is that it didn't come with a measuring tape like the ones my coworkers got with their professional balls. I also really like the texture of the material much better than the rubbery stuff some balls are made of. This one is also healthier for me and the earth- and the company plants a tree!

I would most definitely recommend it and would buy it again myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased, April 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm very happy with this fitness ball. The texture is nice, not smooth and squeaky but rather it has a bit of a skin-like(?) texture making it easy to grip. I ordered the plum 55cm and had no trouble inflating it with the hand-pump included. No odor to the ball and not greasy.

Integrity is a very important virtue to me, and Natural Fitness has it, from my viewpoint. Not only did they respond quickly when I had a question about the ball, but replaced it just as quickly when it proved to have a bit of a defect. They appear to have a genuine care and concern for the environment, using care to not incorporate known contaminants in their products, plus they seem committed to provide funding to plant a tree for every product sold. Very nice product, very good company.

3.0 out of 5 stars greasy., September 23, 2009

Pros:
-thick, durable, no smell.

Cons:
-GREASY. You rub your fingers on the ball, and they get greasy. May be non-toxic, but still, that's just gross.

-PEELS - the top layer peels off, either with time, or when you try to wipe the grease off with a towel.

Pump is "good enough".

4.0 out of 5 stars Ah, that's better....., August 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased the Natural Fitness 75cm fitness ball to replace the 75cm TKO ball that I had to return because it was in fact only around the 55cm mark.
Guess what? This one (also manufactured in China) is also short of the mark.
Fully pumped and tight as a drum I can get it to around 68cm. As I'm using it as a work seat the height really is a big deal, and because of some ongoing injury problems I really have to be sure that it works for me. The TKO was a bit of a disaster in that regard.
HOWEVER, this ball turns out to work quite well for a 176cm or around 5'9" reasonably slim woman.
It has a nice texture, slightly rubbery, and not at all slimy or 'peeling' as I saw in one review. They must have made some improvements which is great to know.
It also doesn't seem to attract fibres and dust. A huge plus in my opinion.
The colour, for those like me who find that to be really important, is just slightly lighter than how it appeared on my screen and has an almost pearlized effect. I would have preferred it to be darker, but I find it an easy to live with colour.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it so far (just 2 days) but as I mentioned in my review for the TKO, SOMEONE PLEASE SEND A CORRECT METRIC MEASURE TO CHINA!
I have to order from Europe which means the shipping costs are not a lot of fun, so correct product descriptions are more than appreciated.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for over 5'10, June 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Natural Fitness 300 lb. Burst Resistant Exercise Ball (Sports)
I read the information for this balance ball and saw statements that it would be good for someone 5'8-6'1. I'm not sure I agree with that. I'm 5'10 and found that I sagged to close to the floor when trying to do back stretches or abdominal work. Despite that, I like the material and color of the ball and it is great for my teenager to use (she's 5'5). It also lacks that odd plasticy-tire smell that other balance balls I've had were permeated with. The material is soft and flexible with the slightly bumpy texture similar to kids play balls. The flexibility makes it very comfortable on my lower back or just to sit on. I also bought this because it is made out of a "safer" plastic than other fitness gear and their Zero-impact tree-planting endeavor. It is nice to make a purchase and feel good about the company it is coming from.

In conclusion: Other than the size, I would recommend this ball to anyone. If you are long of limb, you may want to go to the next size up. It may be in part due to the flexible nature of the material, but it is otherwise a well-made, attractive product that has taken several beatings by a bouncy 5-year-old (so, I totally believe it is burst-resistant!).

No complaints. This ball is everything that I hoped it would be! Being 8 months pregnant, I find it to be the most comfortable seat in the house. I use it as a desk chair when at the computer, and take it to other parts of the house when a comfy seat is needed. I love it!
