The Natural Foods Cookbook,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Natural Foods Cookbook (Paperback)
I absolutely love this book - My daughter found an original hardcover in her husbands' grandmothers' effects and shared it with me. It was difficult to think about returning it to her so I was really happy to find you carried it for sale. Everyone interested in wholesome "no additive & preservative" cooking should have this book !!

Not your typical cookbook,

I actually picked this book up at the goodwill, but after looking thru it I would have bought it for the listed price once I saw the food listings. For a wannabe homesteader, or someone wanting to use every bit of a cow, lamb, or pig, this is the ONLY cookbook I have (and i've got a quite a few) that has a whole section devoted to organ meats. I have never seen listed so many ways to fix tripe, heart, liver, kidneys, lung, and sweetbreads. Don't worry, it's not only for the meat eater, it contains a wide variety of foods. Things such as burghul, buckwheat, filberts, keifer, lentils, millet, watercress, and many soy dishes are listed as well as good healthy versions of more "normal" foods. There is a nice section on growing and using sprouts, and a section on cakes, one on cookies, and other desserts. I am really happy with it and am planning on purchasing a second copy (next one will be newer) as a gift for family.
