changed my mind about this book,
By
This review is from: Natural Goat Care (Paperback)
At first blush, this book appeared to be a collection of anecdotes and unproven assertions. After a year of keeping goats, this book has become my go-to source for information. It's far more useful than the more conventional goat care books which seem to always point the troubled goat keeper to a vet, and encourages them to rely solely on the recommendations of feed mills who they claim produce "complete feeds". I don't have access to a vet who's willing to treat goats. I've dealt with more than a few folks who fed "complete feeds" and still managed to lose goats to urinary calculi, and have does who's bellies have never returned to normal shape even after only one freshening. Two of my girls just kidded a week ago and already the muscles of their bellies have returned to a normal healthy shape. The kiddings were unbelievably easy, and obviously fertility is good. All of my goats are shiny, active and healthy. The males haven't shown a hint of urinary trouble. This book is a must have.

Great Information for Preventative Care in All Breeds of Goats,
By
This review is from: Natural Goat Care (Paperback)
Lots of information about goats in general--all breeds. Where most books focus on either milk goats or fiber goats, this one discusses milk, meat and fiber goat history and needs. It even includes a chapter on goat psychology which is enlightening and useful.
The book is about the importance of balanced minerals in goat diet for preventive health care. There were welcome specifics about the differing needs of goats vs. sheep. Mostly about pasture management, mineral supplementation, and preventative care, there is also information about problem-specific treatments with minerals. Unfortunately, many of the minerals recommended for treating animals and pasture are not readily available in the United States in quantity or quality appropriate for livestock. The book is written based on Australian needs and availability.

Excellent Info,
This review is from: Natural Goat Care (Paperback)
Very well written with good information. Easy to understand for first time goat owners. The book is good even if you only have pet goats and are not breeding or milking but much of that information is there as well.

Goat Care book very helpful,

This book is awesome. I just started out with dairy goats and I find this book very helpful, especially since so many problems can be avoided or solved naturally. I highly recommend this book to anyone raising goats.

Natural goat care,

This review is from: Natural Goat Care (Paperback)
A very informative book. It is worth adding to your library. It was written by an Australian Holistic goat farm, and covered minerals, and additives amazingly well. I have read it twice, and refer to it when I have a specific question or concern. Highly recommended!

This review is from: Natural Goat Care (Paperback)
I can not say enough about this book. I believe every goat owner should read this book. I try to go all natural with my goats and this book has been the only book out there so far that I have found that gives you basic solid information to follow that you can actually use. You also do not have to go and buy expensive ingredients or chemicals to care for your goats which I highly recommend.
This book covers almost every area that you can think of. If you are a serious goat owner who only wants the best for your goats then I would highly recommend it. I do wish they would have put a way to contact the writer of the book. I have had questions about feed and I can not find the answers because there is no way to get a hold of her. Other than that this it is an excellent book and one I would never be without out.

Well written and her recommendations work well! I would not do without this book. I had loaned mine out several years ago and it was not returned so I bought another one as I missed having it for a reference.

Well Worth the Money,
This review is from: Natural Goat Care (Paperback)
We werre extremely pleased. The information offered in this book helped save a goat and who knows how much money in vet bills. That alone is worth the price of the book and then some.
