This book was quite informative and easy to read and easy apply the doctor's recommendations. I've purchased several of Dr. Weil's books but I was quite impressed that this book is tailored toward problems associated with my ethnic group - this was important to me.

They also respond very quickly to your requests online if you have questions. I would suggest that anyone buying this book not use it to replace their current therapies but to augment it. Can't wait for the second edition!

I enjoyed the realistic approach to good health in this book. He balances the best that natural health methods has to offer with the current methods of western medicine. The authors have a concern for the african american family that comes out in their encoouragement to employ sound methods of preventing the diseases most common in the black family. A must have on each families bookshelf!

This book is an excellent read. It is very informative. I enjoyed the book even more because it was simple to read. The techniques given are easy to understand and follow.The section on detoxing was clear cut. It also gives different ways of detoxing your body. The book is filled with different methods of getting and keeping our bodies healthy. It is great to have such an informative book written for African Americans. Basically I have enjoyed the book so much,that I am now buying one for a friend. This is a book that I would definitely tell friends to buy.

I can't believe that there are only three other reviews of this book.. I showed this book to someone and they are on the hunt for their own copy... This is an awesome book! It is filled with so many things that you need to know like: Mind, Body, Spirit, Soul, exercise for optimal health, customized diet, living with stress, negative emotions, fasting, diet, heart disease, stroke, omega-3 info, diabetes, cholesterol, and much more..

I was so surprised at this book that I just stumbled across... I am so happy that I did purchase the book and did not put the book back.
Well hope you decide to get the book and at least try it out...

Let me not leave out the healing section in the book, well I don't want to spoil the read for you, so I will end it here...

*******UPDATE****** I let someone borrow this book and you know it, they have yet to return the book to me. So I have ordered another copy and will just make peace with the one that has not been returned to me... It is a shame.. but I guess that it is such a good book, the individual felt the need to just keep it. They told me that they would return it on a certain day and did not....

This new copy will not leave our home this time....

well use caution when lending your copy out.. it is that good... I am lucky to have found another copy, as my first copy was the last copy on the shelf.
