3.0 out of 5 stars Not a great book, June 26, 2006
By

This review is from: Natural History of Nihoa and Necker Islands (Bulletins in Cultural and Environmental Studies, No. 1) (Paperback)
Over two-thirds of this book is summaries on each of the species found on each island. This can get pretty boring if you're not a scientist. A nice part, though, is that there are pictures for each of the species included. But for learning about the islands themselves, you're pretty much confined to the first quarter of the book, where there are brief overviews. Unfortunately, much of the book made me feel like I could have written it more cohesively and eloquently. The book isn't big, but they could've cut alot of the size if the text wasn't almost double-spaced.
