This review is from: Natural History Mount Le Conte (Paperback)
I discovered this book one evening at the lodge on top of Mt. LeConte. Almost everyone in camp had gone to see the sunset. I remained in camp and started reading, interrupted only by a small black bear ambling through the wild flowers about 100 yards from our cabin. Perhaps the setting in which I discovered this book made me like it initially, but when I returned home, I ordered a copy from Amazon and found it to be a great little history of the mountain, its trails, some of its pioneers and the plants and animals that live or have lived on the mountain. It is not a typical guide book. It is more of a guide book - history - natural history of the mountain.

It made for great reading that evening on top of the mountain, and it made for fun reading at home. I know a little bit more about LeConte than I did before I read it.
