This review is from: The Natural History of Spiders (Library Binding)
If you are interested in spiders and can obtain a copy of this book, you should. The Preston-Mafhams have written and illustrated a number of very creative and interesting books on the subject of terrestrial arthropods, and this is one of the best. I am familiar with much of the science behind their text, and can assure you that they have done their homework on this one. They cover a broad range of interesting subjects in some detail, and present very current information. They have a related book in the same series on insects that is also very well-done. Sometimes the writers of natural history books reveal that they do not know their subject very well, and they provide misinformation to the less-informed public. The writers of this book do know their subject very well, they have a strong interest in it, and they are accomplished photographers. They also take a scientific approach to the presentation of the information that they have collected for this work.
