Something that was important to me was the country of origin which was not listed in the description on Amazon. The package says "Product of USA, Processed in Mexico - Deweid International Inc. 5010 East IH-10 San Antonio Texas, 78219" Product comes dried in salt and vacuum packed, no product dating that I can find. At the least, I avoided buying a product from China. Since I just got the package, I haven't used the product yet. I'll revisit my review when I have. UPDATE: I contacted the manufacturer about the lack of product dating on the package and here's what they said:

Dear Me,
Hog casings actually have a shelf life of about 4 years if stored
properly (refrigerated in salt).
Most people use the casings within a year, and many people say 1 year is
the shelf life in case the casings aren't stored properly.
There is no manufactured or expiration date on the package.

I may not be the best one to write a review since this was my first time to "stuff sausage." Have a local farmer who raises pork (which, by the way, is delectable - will never buy store bought again!) and one package stuffed about 28 lbs. of ground pork. Took four recipes from Bruce Aidells' "Complete Sausage Book" (love the "Iowa Farm" and the "Italian"). The casings are thin, but I only had one "blowout." A few of the sausages that we cooked ruptured, but that did not affect the wonderful taste. The casings were much easier to work with than I had imagined, but, as I said, this was my first effort. I have a KitchenAid mixer w/stuffer attachment and used the ~ 10mm diameter sized funnel and got ~ 25mm diameter sized links. Lots of fun, once you get the hang of it, and, of course, Yummy!

Surprisingly, very good!

Pros:
Very compact. You don't have to take up room in your refrigerator to have it soak in water for long periods of time(But you do have to soak it for about 30 minutes and wash off the salt before use). Presses just like the casing I used while working at Whole Foods. I haven't seen one hole so far. At first the casing looks too small for hog setting, it's not, it's the right size, once you stretch it out, it will fit just right.

Cons:
The package does not include a quick attach plastic adapter which most meat departments get with their sausage casings included. So it will take you a while to find an end, and actually attach it to your press/grinder.

Have used these before. The price is right and they arrive overnight in a pinch. They were okay one time, poor quality another due to excessive amounts of stringy bits pinching the circumference of the casing. This time the quality was very low again, but for a different reason. This time, the casings had long sections that were thick walled, had a rough texture, and had an unpleasant taste. I will pay more for another brand going forward.

Worked fairly good. Nowhere on the packaging does it mention it being made/packaged in China.

It only states USA and Mexico.

One bag will definitely last me a long time. I would suggest you try and pull out just the number of casings you need before you soak the whole thing in water, that way you can put the rest in the freezer.

This came as advertised, and so far I have had none rip on me. I have enjoyed making my own sausage and smoking my own sausage. In order to make sausage inks you need this type of casing. I liked that they came in two packs so that the rest of the casings were not drying out as i was using up one bag.
