Why isn't this woman a star? She can act, she's phenomenally beautiful, she can play piano, she can sing to an extent that makes your spine shiver. She writes songs. There is little that she can't do.

I adore Lonette's first two albums (Lonette; Words and Music) but they are unavailable, so this will have to do. Natural Love is hugely enjoyable, though - to my ears - not up there with Words and Music - which was her masterpiece. Words and Music has to be the most gorgeous and sexy album ever released. I would give this album an A-, whereas I'd give Words and Music an A++.

Word is out that she's working on a new album. What a talented arist. What a great songwriter. When will the world catch on?

I was happy to get my hands on this CD after years of searching. Lonette McKee's sweet, melodic voice deserves to be heard. This album deserves a 1,000 stars.

Natural Love, Lonette McKee's 1992 album, showcases her fine vocal ability. Although primarily known as an actress, the wonderful McKee is a remarkably gifted and versatile artist who has never quite received the recognition and accolades she deserves. Although the album was released about 12 years ago, it does not sound dated. In addition, she also wrote and produced most of the tracks. Highly recommended.

Never has there been an album as underrated as this one. It is simply an incredible, incredible work of art. This beautiful woman can act, sing, write, and produce. An album for the ages.

Can't add much to these posts, but I must say, I cannot understand WHY this amazing, beautifully crafted, heartfelt, stunning CD was overlooked and completed ignored upon its 1992 release? Well, I have a few ideas: A) McKee's songwriting is TOO SMART for mainstream - songs like NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS and HIDING AWAY are BRILLIANT, but too high quality for dumbed-down Top 40 radio B) McKee is black - and sadly, if she were younger and WHITE, she'd get on VH-1 and have a smash...this coming from a white guy C) Spike Lee's label 40 ACRES & A MULE via Sony didn't have the $$ or the marketing muscle to properly promote McKee - a tragic crime for those who care about great music, regardless of genre or style. Even worse, McKee's earlier solo LP she recorded for Warner Bros. is also long OOP. Search for this in the bargain bins, you'll be GLAD YOU DID!! Lonette, come back to the 5 and dime!

This one's got some rock- "Save Our Precious Love", folk-
"Watch The Birds", bluesy/soul- "What About You", and acoustic
guitar gem "Hiding Away". It's Nice.

I am just now ordering this Lonette Mckee cd and am so glad to see the wonderful reviews. I had the album "Words and Music" years ago and gave it away when I got a cd player thinking I'd buy it on CD--WRONG! I have missed that album so much--it is by far the best female performer album I have ever owned! Everytime I see her in a movie or show I get online looking for Words and Music--I found the LP but no CD.I wonder why it was never released on CD? Does anyone know? It should be--I'm not an Alicia Keyes fan by any means but I know that W&M far outdoes anything Keyes has ever done!I can't wait to hear Natural Love and hope I enjoy it as much as I did Words and Music/maybe someday they'll release it on CD(?)it would be an instant hit on the radio if anyone would play it!

This album is the greatest album in the history of recorded music. Every song is perfect. Lonette McKee is perfect. Now I know why she never released a follow up cd. It's because it is impossible to top the majesty of this 1992 classic.

Lonette McKee's album is much like her acting career: underrated and underappreciated. There's nothing wrong with her vocal skills or her songwriting...the sister is well rounded.It's worth a few rotations if you can get your hands on it.

WHEN I SAW LONETTE MCKEE ON ONE OF THE SOUL TRAIN RERUNS, I DIDN'T KNOW THT SHE COULD SING THT WELL, OTHER THAN BEING AN ACCOMPLIHED ACTRESS. SO I BOUGHT THS CD TO SEE WHT SHE HD.....AND WHT I HRD WS NT THT BAD AT ALL...SHE NT SING, BT WROTE A GREAT DEAL OF THE SONGS AND PRODUCED AND PLAY ON A FEW TRACKS.....THE GIRL GT SKILLS. SHE'S NT JUST PRETTY FACE!!! I LOVE THS CD AND IT'S TOO BAD IT'S HER ONLY CD...BT I'M GLAD I GT MINE. AND IF THERE ARE FANS OF LONETTE ARE OUT THERE, PICK UP THS CD WHILE IT'S STLL AVAILABLE.
