This review is from: Natural Medicine, Optimal Wellness: The Patient's Guide to Health and Healing (Paperback)
As a result of reading this book, previously published as The Patient's Guide to Natural Healing, our family has resolved a lot of health issues. (We also started as patients at the author's medical practice, The Tahoma Clinic, near Seattle.)
It turns out our whole family has food allergies (gluten+dairy). My biggest benefits have been energy, weight loss and many little symptoms going away: hundreds of tiny pimples on uppper arms, excessive snot/ear wax, chunky-dandruffy-scalp - these cures a result of specific supplements. Our one-year old had "colic" as a baby, which turned out to be a dairy allergy (cow milk protein thru my "mama's milk"). Our six-year-old is also more calm and has fewer/milder ADHD-like moments. My husband has fewer headaches and joint pains.
We are mostly well now. The kids recover quickly from anything that's going around, and they never get ear infections. My hair and skin are the best they've been for many years.
The book comes out strongly against processed food and refined sugar.
Many therapies use vitamins, and a few use food. Beats using pharmaceuticals!

Identical to their 1999 book!, October 9, 2007
This review is from: Natural Medicine, Optimal Wellness: The Patient's Guide to Health and Healing (Paperback)
This book is one of my favorites, and I've found it an invaluable source of information when working with clients. The case histories give the material a liveliness and reality that a more sterile listing of research wouldn't provide. I was delighted to see this "new" book by Wright and Gaby, having enjoyed their 1999 "Patient's Book of Natural Healing" so much that I own three copies - one for home, a personal one for the office, and one to share with clients.
Unfortunately, I now own four copies. It was disenchanting to find that this "new" book and the 1999 book are IDENTICAL except for the new front and back covers.
Five stars for the content. One star for not sharing this information.

Great resource for consumers and health professionals alike. Nice combination of easily understood personal anecdotes balanced with more scientific information.
