Great Overview of Several Key Topics,

This review is from: Natural Methods for Equine Health (Paperback)
This book may be frustrating to some because it is a only a bit in depth on many things. However the total package is an excellent way to begin to cover the many areas that compose good health for horses. There sections are: the body & nutrition (includes herbs), therapies (homeopathy, acupuncture, and acupressure), and massage & stretches. The last section is about half of the book, and even includes tips on how to strengthen your hands for doing massage. It is very pratical, and I especially use the section on effleurage for draining and health of the lymphatic system. (The chart on placement of lymph nodes is the first I've seen anywhere.) The homeopathy section is brief, which I feel is appropriate as other than first aid (covered) and Bach flower remedies (also covered), it is best to seek the advice of an experienced practitioner of veterinary homeopathy. The section on acupuncture includes one of the best brief descriptions I've ever seen. The anatomical explanations are relevant and a couple of the diagrams are especially useful. Again, I feel this book is most useful as an introduction to the many aspects of maintaining the health of our equine partners, and for that I'd rate highly.
