Product Description

The eco-kids gluten free eco-finger paint kit lets you and your little ones mix eco-friendly and homemade finger paint with their all-natural ingredients and a little water. Great eco-friendly art supplies for kids and finger painting creations and paintbrushes alike. Your children will love exploring their creative side with organic and kid-safe materials. Ingredients include rice flour, annatto seed, carrots, spinach, earth clay, red grapeseed, purple sweet potato, gardenia, red cabbage and cornstarch. Using a 1:1 ratio of water and eco-kids' gluten free finger paint formula, this kit makes yellow, orange, green, purple and blue finger paint. Whether making a self-portrait, a picture of a friend, or a landscape of the backyard, eco-finger paint encourages children to embrace their creative side, while letting you rest easy knowing the exact ingredients your child is coming into contact with. It's often difficult to know exactly what chemicals are hidden in many conventional finger paints, and the reaction they may cause with your child's skin. Many finger paints contain synthetic dyes to create bright colors and that may cause harm when ingested. With the eco-kids homemade finger paint kit, you can get the little ones involved in both playing with and mixing the finger paint. Kit includes five 4-ounce packets of ingredients, and makes 60+ ounces of paint, and promises to inspire endless ideas of eco-friendly crafts for kids. Works great when paired with the eco-kids eco-art pad of paper, sold separately. Size: Five 4-ounce packets of paint, Makes about 60 ounces of paint.

I love love love this Eco-Dough!!!!!!! I have had mine for several months and I actually like it a lot better than Playdoh. I use Eco-Dough when working with many of my special needs children and adults. They love it! My kids who have sensory integration issues love the texture and it actually smells like some of the extracts used to make it, which is a neat sensory experience for them. I also like the individual containers the Eco-dough comes in. It keeps the dough from drying out and it's a great fine motor activity to get my students to unscrew the lids and get the dough out. My students like it because it's easier to work with than Playdoh. The directions say that you can add a little olive oil if it gets dried out, but I have not had this issue so far.

Just like the other kind reviewer, I never have before reviewed anything on Amazon, but I decided to because the only other reviewer gave Eco-Dough three stars, but spent most of her review writing about Playdoh. I can't really figure out why she gave it three stars because she didn't really seem to give any reasons for that, but seems to dislike Playdoh.

IMHO, it's well worth the higher price.

The one thing that I hate most about most play dough is that it dries up and turns into useless chips of brittle junk. And with kids, this really can't be avoided cause they WILL leave it out and by the next day, you have to throw it out cause it's useless.

But this Eco Dough can be brought back to life with a little vegetable oil. I've tried this and it really does work. So you may have to pay a little more, but it's worth it to have dough that lasts.

AND...your kids WILL try to eat play dough. Is just a fact, they will.

But at least with this dough, if they sneak some in, you know it's made from natural ingredients so you don't have to worry about what kinds of toxic stuff they just swallowed.

Just my two cents. :-)

My 2-year-old was given this as a gift. The dough smells nice and comes in neat natural colors, but it is super sticky! I could barely scrape it out of the containers, and my daughter couldn't shape it well. It stuck to my table, leaving oil stains, and stuck to our fingers so that we had to wash them off with dish soap. Would not recommend.

This is a good natural dough. If you really want to avoid all chemicals, its great because the colors are derived from plants, like beets, spinach, etc. It has a nice essential oil smell.

My only complaint is that the product is inconsistent. We've had two containers, and the colors were much more vibrant in one. And the other had lumps of flour in the green and the orange. They werent mixed totally smooth. Ive used food colorings derived from plants before, and they are a very consistent product, so the color differences cant be attributed to the fact that not all beets are created equal. I just think that batch was either old, or not mixed well. Still, no one stopped it from being packaged or sold.

So Id say poor quality control. Still, its a fun product.

I also wish the colors were sold separately. We seem to go though the purplish one first here, and Id gladly buy more of that sole color. But since you have to buy it as a set, I wait until we are low in general.

We had our first 2 batches of eco-dough in 2010. It was amazing. The packaging was beautiful. The lids were like the ones pictured--they screwed on and off. Plus, the dough lasted 2 years. It was awesome. Worth the money, in my opinion. This year, we received another batch for our daughter as the old ones finally dried out. The packaging is cheap. The lids snap on and snap off making it less likely we'll get an airtight seal. And the colors are different--not as vibrant. One last disappointment? The fresh, wonderful scent we experienced with the 2010 eco-dough is no more. I can't smell the essential oils like before.

Overall, not worth the money anymore. It seems like corners have been cut to increase profit margin and, while understandable, it's a bummer.

I am disappointed in this product because the product safety seal was damaged and the yellow dough had streaks of black in it. I was clearly not comfortable giving this to my child. I understand that things happen but the seller doesnt offer an exchange on this product. Not great customer service!

Use this eco dough all the time. Love the smell, texture, softness and that it does not dry out very fast like Playdough. I prefer the smell to playdough because it does not smell like a cookie and my dogs don't try eating it when a piece falls on the floor.

Personally, I got this for my 2 kids (1.5 and 4 years old). They are play-doh freaks so I thought this would be a better alternative in the event that they actually succeeded in swallowing any of it as they are prone to trying to do from time to time ;-) Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between this stuff and normal Play-doh. It was moist and pliable, easy to work with and great colors. I love the little jars they came in. The only downside to me was the price but anything that is really all natural tends to be more expensive. I read the reviews from people that said they had problems with it, but I personally, haven't experienced any of that...so all I can say is that I would definitely buy it again and I love it now!
