I have been trying to avoid having to start back on steroids for my asthma. I feel this salt pipe has definitely helped improve my lung health and has also helped my sinuses. I have had an issue with rhinitis for years & used to use prescription nose sprays ultimately having to deal with constant nose bleeds plus I had to spend a lot of $$ on expensive prescriptions. I feel this salt pipe has helped my rhinitis so I am not needing to use prescription nasal inhalers at all. From time to time I also use a Nedi pot & flush my sinuses but more often, after my shower, I blow my nose to clear it & then take a few sniffs of the salt pipe and it dries out my sinuses. It is nice not to have so many issues with a runny nose. I also use the salt pipe before going to bed & take in a few strong inhales & exhale out my nose and I seem to be having fewer asthma attacks. I usually would have congestion in my lungs just before bedtime & since using the salt pipe I have fewer attacks as well as less phlegm in my lungs. I find that I have to do this regimen regularly but at least I'm doing something natural vs. medicinal and not having the side effects I had when I was on Advair or using the prescription nasal inhalers.

The sleek, modern space age design of this inhaler makes it easy to hold, and its curved body makes a natural fit to the mouth. I am able to hold my head in an upright position while inhaling the salt. Some straight inhalers that I have used felt clumsy and awkward. No so with this product. The safety valve that keeps air and microoranisms from entering the container is also a plus benefit for me. I worry about cross contamination, especially with the flu season that we have had this year. I recommend this product to anyone who wants to try the dry salt inhalers. I am very pleased with this one.

My husband has asthma and is now using this products. He says it works; you just have to use it frequently. He's a pessimist about a lot of products, so for him to like it says a lot!!

I tried this thing for about a week, and I'm not sure that it does anything. I never got the "clearing cough" that people talk about, which suggests to me that I might not have the right kind of asthma to benefit from this, although I might be being a bit charitable. Might be more worthwhile for people who are having continued difficulty managing their asthma, after they've exhausted other conventional options.
AFAIC, it did nothing for my sinus problems or allergies, and seems awfully expensive for piece of ceramic with an ounce of cave salt in it. Caveat emptor.

After a lifetime of bronchial infections from asthma, triggered by allergies, I was told to get shots, take drugs, etc. Now, at the first sign of lung irritation, instead of grabbing an inhaler, first I grab this. We bought it with hesitation, but by golly, it actually works. It does not replace my medications for sustained reactions that escalate. I know when it's time to start the singular, proventil (and/or symbicort) and nasalcrom combo, but, for minor and temporary respiratory irritations, this inhaler calms down the irritation as good as a steroid, at least for me. I shake it to activate the salt and on the first inhale, I can taste the salt. With each breath, I experience a calming sensation and after ten minutes, the inflammation is gone and my lungs feel "dry". I got the idea after visiting a salt cave spa where I noticed significant relief. Do research salt caves to get a better understanding of how salt therapy works on the lungs. I can't say I am crazy about their pocket inhaler as it doesn't seem to pack the punch the larger one does. It is definitely a well designed and quality made product. I bought mine in June of 2010. Two weeks ago, while in the wooded mountains of North Carolina I had an attack and it still worked, although after managing the attacks for three days, I did switch to my meds until we left the woods.
