I live in a household with three women (my wife, my daughter, and my mother-in-law). They are all terrified of roaches. If I hear a blood curdling shriek, it means that it is time for me (the designated bug killer) to save the day.

I got this book hoping to get some basic household tips regarding roach control. Oh my goodness!! This book is so esoteric, it's not funny! It is definitely written from a scientific point of view. I think most readers (myself included) will soon glaze over and lose interest.

As I read the vivid descriptions of how horrible roaches are, I began thinking that I myself might emit a blood curdling shriek next time I see a roach. This book is not for the faint of heart. I'm not knocking this book for its graphic candor, I think it's good for folks to know how awful this insect is. I'm just warning you that the images this book will evoke in your mind's eye are not at all pretty.

There definitely are many tips on how to eliminate roaches, but they get lost in the scientific jargon of the book. I did learn a thing or two, but I had to really pick them out.

I have to say that this book abounds in run on sentences, typos, and large portions of text without paragraph breaks. There is constant repetition. I found all of this to be annoying. These writing problems really took away from the book (and took away three stars from my review).

At a couple points, the author tells us to put filled roach traps in our freezers to finish the job of killing them. I don't know about you, but I am NOT putting roaches in my freezer. It's bad enough they are in my kitchen.

On a lighter note: I learned that a roach farts every fifteen minutes. I'll leave you with that.

It takes much too long for this author to get to the point and one tires of reading before finishing it. If you really want to combat roaches, purchase tth roach control product called InVict which is also sold on Amazon.com. It really works well!!!
