I do like it better than a peanut butter.
Jaewoo Kim
There was over an inch of oil at the top, but it doesn't matter, because no matter how much you stir, it's soupy all the way to the bottom.

Then Costco ran out for about a month and when the product came back it was in plastic jars!

Absolutely great taste. 100% Natural, no other additives, just dry roasted almonds. Great source of protein (7g per serving), healthy fats (10g of monounsaturated and 4g of polyunsaturated), 4g of fiber, only 2g of sugar, 0mg of sodium, 180 cal per 2 tablespoons. I like it more than peanut butter, great with celery, great with flat bread and high fiber crackers, great on whole wheat toast, perfect on top of slice of an apple. However, price of this product on Amazon is 3 times the price you pay at Costco (only $5.69 there).

I ordered two of these thinking it was a 26 oz glass jar. It is not. It is a plastic jar. What I get at the store is in a glass jar. The package had been squeezed and the plastic jar has oil leaking from it. I am reconsidering my grocery orders with Amazon because there is no way to tell Amazon that I don't think I should pay for this. One of the available actions for the product says, "Return or replace items." When I click that the message says, "This item is not eligible for return. Please see our Returns Policy for more information. If you require further assistance, please use the Contact Us button on the Help pages." When I go to the help page and click the Contact Us button, find the order in the "Which order are you contacting us about?" dialog box, click done, I get three options: Track my package, Return or Replace Items, Leave Package/Delivery Feedback. When I click Return or Replace, I get the message ""This item is not eligible for return. Please see our Returns Policy for more information. If you require further assistance, please use the Contact Us button on the Help pages." Thus full circle with no real help. I left package feedback with pictures -- but I don't want to pay for these items. As of now, it looks like I am stuck with $27.66 of Almond butter that might not be safe since the seals are broken.

Summary:
1. These are not glass jars like I get at the store.
2. The package was squeezed and I think that broke the seals and oil has come out of the plastic jars.
3. There is not easy way to report the problem to ask for a refund.
4. This is my first huge disappointment with Amazon and I will reconsider the standing grocery orders that I have with them.

I bought this almond butter at Costco. It tastes like the plastic jar it comes in, not like almonds. It's so runny that I had to eat over the sink. I will stick with peanut butter from now on.

I always bought this almond butter from Costco and it came in a glass jar and had a good flavor and consistency. Then Costco ran out for about a month and when the product came back it was in plastic jars! Every fiber in my being told me not to get it because of the bpa/pthalates leaching into the food...but alas I got it anyway!(so much for listening to my gut) BIG MISTAKE not only for that reason but because it smells rancid, is VERY runny (you do not have to stir this as there is no oil layer on top), and tastes even worse! I don't believe that this product is only almonds. If it was, the natural oils from the nuts would rise to the top and you would have to stir it! This company is obviously trying to cut corners in a major way and the quality of their product has suffered greatly.

This product (roasted creamy from Costco) used to come in a glass jar, now it's plastic. When you open the jar, even though this is the product that supposedly needs stirring, the content looks and moves like a thick oily soupy substance. There is no layer of oil on top. If you try to stir it to discover if there is a thicker content on the bottom of the jar, you discover it's the same all the way to the bottom. The product itself is tasteless--does not taste like almonds at all. My husband described it as tasting like a bland, neutral oil. If someone gave you some in a spoon in a blind taste test, I would defy you to know what on earth is was! We have had Maranatha almond butter before some years back. It had almond flavor and was a nut butter consistency, not like a thick oily soup! It's nasty. Be warned.

This product arrived with the jar lid off and almond butter spilled all over the inside of the shipping box. The jar is soft plastic, which allows phthalates, from the plastic, to enter the food contents. The product is thin and processed in a facility where peanuts, soy and tree nuts are used. We would never recommend this.

I ordered 3 containers of this butter. They arrived wraped in plastic and literally had oil dripping from them when I pulled them out of the plastic. It was a complete oily mess. Because of the paper label and the oil, well, the label soaks up a lot of oil and you'll never get it all off. For a few months I used one container (I threw the other two out) everytime I handled it I had to wash my hands when I was done to try and get the oil off. Also, the butter did seem rather.... old... It didn't taste exactly right. Like I said, I used one, but threw the others out. Maranatha has great butters, but don't buy their almond butter here. For my next order I bought some Justins Nut Butter (almond) and that stuff is very good. It's also vacuum sealed so even if the lid was loose, it's not going to leak, and there's no layer of oil on the top of the butter either. Oh yeah, it also tastes fantastic. Want to know a great sandwich? Almond butter and raspberry. Delish!
