Only still photographs., July 9, 2004
This review is from: Natural Splendors, Vol. 1 - Nature Scenes from the American West & Southwest (DVD)
Do not buy the Natural Splendor DVD's. These DVD's are misleading. You do get pictures of nature scenes. But, that's what they are, still pictures. What they have done is take still pictures and record them on DVD. The camera pans up and down the still photos. They are not live moving pictures of the landscapes. You do not see flowing rivers or waterfall. You do not see the wind blowing through trees or meadows. You do not see any moving wildlife. You do get a slide show with music. The whole point of the DVD's is missed. We should have got a DVD showing nature in MOTION, not stills. Do not buy. I recommend buying the Naxos Musical Journey series of DVD's. With the Naxos DVD's you get actual live moving pictures of landscapes, accompanied with great music.

Why can't they give us what we WANT/NEED?, January 3, 2006
This review is from: Natural Splendors, Vol. 1 - Nature Scenes from the American West & Southwest (DVD)
God, is it that hard to figure out? I have purchased 15 so called relaxing DVD's and only 2 or three out of the entire bunch are what they say they are and do what they claim to do. After you've been working or shopping in the Mall or Grocery Store or eating at some restaurant and listening to Muzak for 2-4-8 hours, listening to the kids yelling and screaming for hours on end, riding on a bus for hours or even worse having to drive a bus for 8 hours or be in traffic all day like our Postal workers are, the last thing you want to hear on a "relaxing" dvd is music. GIVE ME SOME NATURAL SOUND PLEASE. I mean how long has it been since the idea was brought to light that people were short circuiting from stress? What is the best healer? NATURE. Do we have to wait for Hollywood film makers to get the message? I can remember some of the most peaceful times in my youth were when I was simply gazing upon a wheat field (not one that had been marked by crop circles either) and listening to the wind gently stroking the grass or the sound of walking through fallen leaves in the autumn and taking my time doing it, not flying through it so I can get to film the next video. Huge crashing waves breaking on shore don't get it either. I could tolerate the simple changing of one picture to another if it were accompanied by natural sounds. The only DVDs that even come close to being truly relaxing are those by Greg Voevodsky at Powerfloe, the Waves dvds which I purchased via Amazon, two of which I own, Bora Bora and Virgin Island Beaches. I gave Bahama Beaches to my niece who is 11 and she loves it. She suffers from ADD, probably because her mother is a Dental Assistant and uses a highspeed cleaning device for 6-8 hours a day, and I was absolutely amazed at how much more calm she has become. I also own some Natural Sounds Cds and the best is by RYKO. Voevodsky is coming out with a Nature Walks DVD and I'm on pins and needles waiting for it. I know it will be just what the Doctor ordered.

Exquisite!, May 24, 2002
This review is from: Natural Splendors, Vol. 1 - Nature Scenes from the American West & Southwest (DVD)
I just watched Natural Splendors, Vol.1 for the first time. The photography was exquisite and the music worked beautifully with the images. I would like to have it playing in the waiting room of my Acupuncture practice to put people in a relaxed, healing mindset before their treatments. I think people would come early for their appointments just to have a chance to sit and watch this fabulous DVD.
