A wonderful resource for anyone with MVPS. Not only a natural approach with logical conclusions to control the symptoms, but more complete and comprehensive than any other book I've read on MVPS. Best 4 bucks I've spent in a great while!!.... I highly recommend it.

A superb overview/starting point for those who have (or think they might have) Mitral Valve Prolapse. One of the other reviewers gave it a bad review, siting that Dr, Hoffman mentioned magnesium as a teatment, but gave no info as to the dosage. This person must not have actually READ the book, because the information IS there. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Short and to the point. This little book manages to put a series of symptoms in context for those of us who have gotten to the point that we're a little embarassed to complain to our doctor about yet ANOTHER symptom. Always risking being told that we're somatizing some other malaise, the explanations of the inter-relatedness of symptoms, and the suggestions as to how to render them managable not only have given me actual options to improve my quality of life, but have taken my anxiety level down many notches! I'm not crazy after all! And there's something I can do to help myself!

This succinct book not only provides helpful information about MVPS, but also explains some fairly simple methods for controlling the symptoms of MVPS without drugs. I have been following many of the suggestions and I feel much better! I also found it very interesting to learn that many of my body's "quirks" may be related to each other. Being able to make sense of various strange symptoms and problems was quite comforting and this understanding makes the "syndrome" easier to cope with.

This short but well-written guide gives practical strategies to those who are trying to cope with MVP. It is the best work that I have seen to date on MVP. The author has a keen understanding of what people with MVP are going through. More importantly, the author contrasts certain ways conventional medicine looks at MVP versus ways that holistic medicine looks at MVP. There are some things about MVP that people are told that could be misleading and Dr. Hoffman offers some alternative treatments and explanations. Highly recommended!

My wife suffered from mitral valve prolapse for several years until we discovered the many healing benefits of appropriate nutrient supplementation. Now that we take chelated magnesium and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) daily for heart health, her MVP symptoms have disappeared. Anyone wishing verification of the role of magnesium in mitigating the symptoms of mitral valve prolapse can find it discussed in Dr. Carolyn Dean's excellent book The Miracle of Magnesium. Another excellent book which also discusses the role of supplemental magnesium in relieving MVP is The Magnesium Factor by Dr. Mildred Seelig. Both of these books are available from Amazon at quite reasonable prices.

I was in a state of depression after being diagnosed with MVP, now all the missing pieces are falling in place. This book should be required reading for all MVP sufferers. Thank you Dr. Hoffman!!!!!
