This book was given to me as a gift and it truly is a gift that keeps on giving. I have referenced this book often and used many of the herbal remedies on myself with much success. This book is easy to read and is packed with information on safe use of healing plants. When my friends ask me what book I recommend for wholistic health, herbalism or naturally healthy children THIS book is at the top of my list.

This is a very good reference for natural remedies, however, I was hoping it would have some information about immunizations and it did not.

This is a very informative book however, if you are not willing to go purchase a bunch of herbs and prepare tinctures to have them ready "in case of emergency" then don't bother with this book. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but it's not for everyone.

Great Book for the New Mother,
This review is from: Naturally Healthy Babies and Children: A Commonsense Guide to Herbal Remedies, Nutrition, and Health (Paperback)
This book has been an awsome reference. When my son gets a fever they go high. I didn't like always giving tylenol. Aviva gives great ideas for this and so much more. I have looked up so many ailments for my kids, but just as much for friends that I have told about the book. She gives advice on most of the common illnesses, including a breif summary, causes, symptoms, dietary recommendations, Herbal recommendations, remedies and more. She is not against a doctors care and actually recommends it when neccisary. But she gives many other common sence options to try before taking your child in for a two minute appointment that costs $100 and ends up with a, "yep he has a cold give it a few days and he'll be fine."

I love this book! When I was pregnant I bought it, knowing I wanted to raise my daughter the 'natural' way. I reference this book OFTEN. It is the first place I go to whenever wanting to find out information about an illness or symptom. I have tried many of its remedies successfully, including those for acid reflux, chronic constipation, colds, indigestion, bruises, teething, colic and some more, both on the baby and myself. This book is truly a gem.
You can learn all about herbal remedies, how to make them yourself, and how they work. The author describes different herbs, their properties and uses. Whether you are a new mom, or an experienced one, this book has valuable and practical information to aid you in keeping your little ones and whole family naturally healthy. I consider this book a 'must-have.'

This book is so helpful and easy to follow. And I've read a lot! I bought the rest of Romm's books after I got this one. She makes you feel like you're talking to her in person and that taking responsibility for your own health (and that of your kids) is completely possible. Very empowering!

If you prefer not to call the Pediatrician at the first sign of trouble this book is a wonderful reference. Helps to calm the fears at 2 am. And there are NO antibiotic recommendations any where in this book! Amazing. Highly recommend

I am learning a lot as my kids grow. This book is full of information about home herbal remedies, many of them from things I am growing in the garden. I like it's emphasis on health through nature. The book is divided up into problems with solutions and has several very informative introductory chapters. I would recommend this for anyone who has young (or older!) children and is tired of being dependent on cough medicines that don't work and sugar suspended tylenol that rots the teeth and doesn't help the problem.

Great Starter Book,
This review is from: Naturally Healthy Babies and Children: A Commonsense Guide to Herbal Remedies, Nutrition, and Health (Paperback)
This book has some great information in it. I would recommend this book to others. The only reason I gave it four stars is because ultimately I am lazy and probably won't end up following any of the "recipes" she provides. Not to mention that the bath recipes could end up plugging my pipes! Aviva does have some great resources in the back of the book to buy products though...a bonus for me! If anything now I know what herbs to look for in already made products.
