4.0 out of 5 stars Nice introduction to Native American music., May 25, 2000

This is a very good collection of songs- especially the Rita Coolidge arranged "Amazing Grace" and the Donna Summer written and performed "Dreamcatcher". The spirituality of the disk shines through, I found myself smiling all the while the disk played. Buy it and you will not be disapointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW....Never thought it would be so good!, December 12, 2000

I was really taken aback by the beautiful songs and wonderful performances on this soundtrack. I was also surprised to see Donna Summer listed on this album. I have to say the song is co-written by Summer and is really not what you would expect from the dance diva. She really shows her different sides on this song. It really sounds like it could be a Stevie Nicks tune. Very good. The whole album would be worth your while, particularly for any Donna Summer fans. The clippet of the song truly doe not do any justice to the songs. I thought it was worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtakingly beautiful!!, March 17, 2005

This is a beautiful collection of mainly Native American music to accompany the movie 'Naturally native'.

Loaded with enchanting, largely instrumental numbers by Murielle Hamilton which comprise humming and wailing to give a haunting sound. There is the brooding 'Native' by Arigon Starr, and the upbeat rocker 'My brother' by Carlos Reynosa.

Other standouts are a moving rendition of 'Amazing grace' (not done in English) by Walela, The reggae-ish 'Valley of decision' by Christafari, and the beautiful folk/rock ballad 'Dreamcatcher' performed by and co written by Donna Summer, showing another side to her colourful repertoire.

Every track is a moving delight. A must get CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars The movie was EXCELLENT, the sound track even better!, October 24, 2000

I saw this movie in Seattle back in December of 1999. It was excellent! As good or better than Smoke Signals by Sherman Alexie but unfortuneately didn't get the same publicity. I can't wait for the movie to come out on video in early 2001. I haven't yet bought this sound track (hoping for it for Christmas) but I have heard it and its great!!!
