While looking for an alternative to the eye stain product I had been using for a couple of years, I stumbled upon Naturally Tearfree while on Amazon. I had heard about some possible health concerns regarding the product I had been using and I noticed my Bichon's behavior of trying to avoid the food on his plate that contained a greater concentration of powder, (after mixing wet food with supplements and hard food). So I took a chance and tried Naturally Tearfree. My Bichon has taken well to the herbs; seeming to either like the taste or at least accept it without complaint. I like the smell of the herbs as I open the container, which is a plus. Comparing the two products for effectiveness, in my own experience, both products work in varying degrees, with Naturally Tearfree working the best. Since starting Naturally Tearfree, my dog's coat has overall been whiter looking. He had been getting some of those unattractive orange-brown stains under the eyes and down his face and back. My dog is a pet and part of our family; not a show dog. While I have not found any product that is perfect, I am happy with Naturally Tearfree and will continue to purchase it.

I have met the lady that makes this and she great. I can't believe the people that rated this product badly because they didn't have the patience for new hair to grow back or because their dog had an extremely rare allergy. I understand that would be traumatic but it wasn't anyone's fault.
I use this on my little dog and have also ordered three bottles of it for my customers dogs and we all like it. My dog doesn't mind the taste at all and it really does smell pleasant like the others say.
You need to be patient for results but the results will be permanent. It doesn't just help with tears and staining, it improves your dogs overall health.

I liked the idea of using this natural product over Angel Eyes which contains antibiotics. It is slightly less effective than Angel Eyes which I would have been OK with because of its other qualities but it stains my dog's mouth. He constantly looks like another dog peed on his mouth. I've tried cleaning his mouth off after he eats but the color of the powder gets stained into his fur and doesn't wash off. This is in regards to my Morkie (off white colored mouth). My other dog, a Maltipoo, has no issues with the mouth staining (grayish colored mouth). However, I am switching back to Angel Eyes because I can't deal with buying 2 separate products.

We have two small white dogs. One's eyes actually cleared up completely and the brown streaks under the other's are greatly improved. I mix the powder with a little bit of peanut butter and give it as a treat according to directions.
My dogs love it.

We have a cavachon, and this product worked to clear up her tear stains. We also feed her all-natural organic pet food (Dr. Gary's Best Breed Holistic Poodle Dog Diet for dogs with sensitive skin) and organic treats. We also give her distilled water. These efforts alone were not enough to clear up her tear stains, but this product helped enormously! We have no more tear stains and if you slather peanut butter on a piece of bread and roll up the 1/4 tsp. recommended dosage, there will be minimal yellow stains on your dog's mouth. We did have to use this product over six months or so. It's a three week process (used three times the first week, two times the second week, and one time the third week), so in my opinion the directions need to be followed for this product to work. I recommended this product to my neighbors who have two bichons and this product cleared up their messy faces. This product works!

My dog completly stopped itching and all the tear stains went away. Definitely a safe alternative to all the other products out there.

I bought this product to help my dog's tear staining and assumed since it was 100% natural, it would be very safe. After the first 2 days, my dog started throwing up and then developed a severe allergic reaction, bordering on anaphylactic shock! Here eyes were almost swollen shut, her upper lip was about 3 times it's normal size and she had labored breathing. Thankfully, a call to the vet, some benedryl, cold compresses and several hours of watching her carefully, she started to get better. But, it took probably about 48 hours for her to get back to normal. Whether this product actually works to get rid of tear stains or not, I will never know, because the jar I bought is going in the garbage.

If you do buy this for your dog to try it... please be very careful and watch your dog for any signs of allergy.

Three stars so far but I haven't finished the recommended protocol yet. The staining is not as bad, but it definitely is still there. Will be starting another go-round and hope that it works this time.

It smells like sage and black pepper. I can't get my dog to eat it.
