I have bought the irlink a couple of weeks ago and boy, it is really amazing. I like to fly with IL-2 Sturmovik and X-plane and I considered buying multiple monitors so I would continuously be able to look left and right (e.g. looking at the landing strip while flying in the flight pattern).

But this is a *far* better solution! I really feel like I am in the cockpit and am able to look left, right, back, up and down. Again, this is totally awesome and amazing.

Don't tell the manufacturer but I would buy this gadget again if it was twice the money. No kidding.

What a product! TrackIR will change the way you look at video games: literally AND figuratively. I forgot to start the TrackIR software before starting up FS2004 one time, and was amazed at how different the game felt without it.

The system is super easy to install, easy to run (just remember to start the app before the game!), and easy to tweak, if you want to (don't need to, for most games).

Cons:

1) Games that design for TrackIR are limited. There *are* dozens of games out there, some notably good ones (FS2004, Falcon 4.0, America's Army, Armed Assault, Combat Flight Sim, etc.), but TrackIR is still pretty new, and some of the implementations seem hokey, at best. Hopefully, more games in the future will incorporate this amazing technology.

2) The system hardware feels unbelievably cheap, especially for what you pay for it. Cheap, brittle plastic that feels like it'll snap just by picking it up. I had to return the first TrackIR I ordered because the TrackClip arrived broken. Poor hardware design and cheap materials selection simply are not appreciate, especially given the relatively high cost of this item.

The Pro:
It's worth it! Get one!

if during a dogfight you try to move your head and look above the screen but nothings happend, this is the product for you!!!

Rock solid tracking, fast, reliable. Simply the best gadget a gamer can wish for. You'll never want to play without one, trust me.

If you're into combat flight simulation, you haven't experienced nothing until you dogfight using one of these. And once you've tried it, there is no going back. For casual civilian sim flying it's OK, but sometimes I go back to the hat switch when I want to just sight-see. It can be adjusted such that very small head movements create much larger "virtual" head movements; it's amazing that after a short time you feel that you are really moving you head that much. Overall I'm very impressed by this product.

This head tracker works very well with the flight sim program. I got it for my son for his birthday, and he loves it because it adds to the realism of being a pilot. It took some getting used to, because it works so well and reacts to each head movement, but my son attaches the clip to a baseball hat and off he goes!

The TrackIR moves flight simulators a step closer to reality. One is no longer imprisoned within a monitor.

I followed the setup, everything seemed to work. However I cannot get more than just the slightest head movement on screen. I tried support but no answer, maybe they are away for the week? I went on their forum and received one reply "I am having the same problem". I searched for other help on other forums and did find one suggestion that required quite an extensive changing of the registry. I don't think that is a good idea. So, back in the box, maybe I will try again later. Okay, whenever I see a product that has nothing but perfect reviews, I become skeptical. But this product deserves those stars.

I use a TrackIR 4 with my home flight sim, and I'm very happy to say that it works as advertised. It works so well and adds so much to the experience that I would say that for a flight sim enthusiast, it is essential gear. It's a far more elegant solution than multiple monitors. In short: worth every penny.

I AM JUST GETTING INTO FLIGHT SIM GAMING. SOME VETERAN FLIGHT SIM PILOTS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT THE MOST CRITICAL COMPONENT OF THEIR HARDWARE SETUP WAS THE TRACKIR HEAD TRACKING DEVICE. MIND YOU, THESE ARE FOLKS WITH HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS INVESTED INTO THEIR HOTAS SYSTEMS AND HIGH END GAMING COMPUTERS. I OWN A CH COMBATSTICK AND THE HAT SWITCH IS KIND OF DIFFICULT FOR ME TO ACCESS DUE TO MY HAVING SMALL HANDS. CH MAKES THEIR STICKS TO F16 SPECIFICATIONS. LARGE STICKS. SO I ORDERED THE TRACKIR AND FROM THE MOMENT I FIRST ENABLED IT I KNEW MY GAMING WORLD TOOK A QUANTUM LEAP FORWARD. I WILL NO LONGER HAVE TO STRUGGLE TO REACH THE HAT SWITCH AND BECOME DISTRACTED FUMBLING AROUND MY JOYSTICK TRYING TO SPOT THAT BOGEY GETTING READY TO TURN MY AIRCRAFT INTO A FLAMING HEAP OF WRECKAGE. THIS DEVICE WILL GREATLY INCREASE YOUR ABILITY TO FOCUS ON SEARCHING OUT ENEMY PLANES TO ENGAGE IN DOGFIGHTS OR TAKE EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID BEING BLASTED OUT OF THE SKY. EASY TO INSTALL AND SIMPLE TO SETUP. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT FLIGHT SIMS AND OTHER GAMES THAT ARE SUPPORTED BY THIS HARDWARE I SAY GET IT AT ALL COSTS. YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID. YOUR GAMING EXPERIENCE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AFTER USING THIS HEAD TRACKING DEVICE.JOYSTICKS, THROTTLES, PEDALS, MOUSE, ARE ALL GOOD DEVICES BUT THIS BABY WILL ONLY ENHANCE YOUR ABILITY TO UTILIZE THOSE DEVICES.
