After 8 years of fussy eating ( would not eat any dog food) and bad feeding habits ( so we gave him cheeseburgers, egg mc muffins, hot dogs and bologna) we knew it was time to try to get our bulldog onto something healthy.

This food is very nutritious and our dog eats it up! 3 cheers!

Medallions less messy than the tubes.

I did a ton of research on raw prepared food for dogs before deciding on this product and feel happy about my purchase. My dog had a severe issue w/struvite bladder stones a year and a half ago and had been on Hills C/D to prevent reoccurrence, but due to the poor nutritional quality of the prescription food, I decided to go the 'raw route' which my research indicates is the way to go for the all around well being of dogs in almost all cases. (If your dog has struvite issues that have been diagnosed as GENETIC rather than bladder infection related, by all means LISTEN TO YOUR VET for the best course of action!!)

The food was shipped very quickly in an impressive carton complete with dry ice, well insulated in Styrofoam. (My dog always seems to know when a package is for 'her' and crowds me when I open these boxes. She was super curious about the dry ice, so use caution opening the box on the floor if your pooch is the same way.)

Medium size hockey puck shaped patties are frozen solid and come on a resealable bag which fit well in my refrigerator's freezer. (The bag is taller rather than wider so the space saving's nice!) They take about 30 minutes to thaw at room temp, but since this is raw meat, I would recommend thawing in refrigerator if you take them out sooner than a half hour before feeding. This product contains finely ground bones as well as the meat, so if you have hesitated to feed raw due to the choking or piercing of insides from bones, this product is a godsend.

I initially offered my dog a small taste of one before mixing with her other food and she rejected it, although when I mashed them up and mixed in with other food she's familiar with, she ate them with no problems. I started her out with 1 patty for a 5 day period, then 2 patties for another 5 days and finally 3 patties - reducing her other 'processed' food accordingly. No stomach upset whatsoever, even though I've had problems with that before when introducing a new food.

The downside of this product is the cost to feed. My dog's 40 lbs and if I fed her this product exclusively it would be a small fortune. The guidelines recommended (for this product only) are as follows for my dog's size and activity level:

40 lb dog - moderate activity level:
12 ozs twice a day (total of 24 oz for 1 day of feeding)

Do the math - The bags holds 56 ozs and I should feed 24 ozs a day. This would mean less than 3 days worth of food for $20+ dollars!

I have made my bag last a month by using this product in conjunction with other foods (canned salmon, red and sweet potatoes, another brand of dehydrated raw food). The beauty of this is that it's raw meat, compliments other foods, and does not need to be fed exclusively, so for the piece of mind my dog is off the canned and the BHA/BHT laden kibble, it's well worth it.

I have been feeding this dog food to my two dogs, Truffle and Bamboo now for several years. When I got my dogs Bamboo, my vet in fact recommended that I feed them a diet rich in organic protein - meat, skip the grains (it makes them fat), and add a few veggies so they can benefit from the raw nutrition to build a strong immune system. I followed his advice, I put them on a an organic diet rich in protein i.e. meats and raw veggies. When Paw Naturaw came out, I was thrilled because they simplified the eating process by combining everything I was already doing into one product. Lets face it if our animals were out in nature this is exactly what our animals would be eating, not the processed, nutritionally deficient dog foods that are on the market today. Today's conventional dog foods are full of animal by products, parts, fillers, additives and preservatives, and who knows what, that are frankly nutritionally deficient. Our animals are showing up with ridiculously high cancer rates, and the same diseases humans have today and we wonder why. Today's animals are overfed and undernourished. To give our animals a fighting chance we need to feed them a diet that is nutritionally rich and the Paw Naturaw products fit the bill. With ingredients like Organic chicken, bison, beef, organic broccoli, organic carrot, organic celery, organic apple, organic squash, organic sweet potato, organic chicken gizzard, organic flax seed, and more we can build our pets immune systems to keep them healthy and have fewer vet bills!

I know it defeats the purpose to cook this food, but I did microwave it for just a minute. I'm not sure that I totally trust raw food yet, but I love the fact this is organic. It had a wonderful smell, like a sausage pattie with sage. My very picky Maltese came running into the kitchen and when I put the plate down, she ate it in seconds! I have been making her food because she won't eat any dry foods or wet foods. We have tried almost everything. Iams, Innova, Wellness, blue buffalo, Royal Canin earthblend, whole meals and deli fresh. She ate this faster than she eats my homemade meals! Since she is small (4 lbs) this is an affordable product for me!

my dogs have literally started dancing for their dinner now that i am feeding them raw food. their coats shine, their breath doesnt reek anymore and as my coworker put it, they now have a "pep in their step." the company that makes this product has excellent environmental practices and humanely treats their food sources. i was worried that it would melt in transport but it arrived still frozen. my dogs love it so much that i wish the had a portable treat version i could use for training.

After trying lots of "high quality" canned food only to have my older Chihuahua mix rescue hate nearly every one of them, I finally tried Paw Naturaw products. She LOVES them, they're convenient for me, and we'll never go back to canned again.

She doesn't LOVE the chicken and favors the beef medallions, but the chicken really is a great value. So, we mix 1/2 beef and 1/2 chicken + her Blue Buffalo kibble (the only one she'll eat) and she gobbles it up. I LOVE all of the ingredients in the medallions - the meat, bones, and other goodies, veggies, and fruits. There also isn't too much protein, which she has had problems with before.

Her brittle coat is no more, her tear stains have greatly decreased, and she is just all around happier. Trying to get her to eat is no longer a struggle. I attribute these positive changes to Paw Naturaw products.

I've used this food for my three small dogs (two chihuahuas and a pomeranian) for about two years. All three are rescued dogs, and two are old and developing health problems related to age. Thanks in no small part to their raw-meat-and-bones diet, they all act like much younger dogs!

I find that the portions are perfect for keeping track of how much they're being fed, which helps them stay at healthy weights. Additionally, they all find Paw Naturaw chicken (and turkey) extremely tasty and enjoy mealtimes immensely. One of my dogs was fostered in a home where he was known for his picky eating, and upon coming to my home, scarfed down both types of Paw Naturaw food he was offered. His foster mom was amazed! Since coming home with me, he's growing in a beautiful coat, and has much less "doggy" odor and body/fur oiliness than before. All of the dogs improved markedly in coat sheen, energy level, weight, and stool volume when eating frozen raw food, as opposed to even the best kibble.

The only drawback with this food, which is tiny, is that there is some loss of convenience. You must remember to thaw the food in the refrigerator overnight, or in a plastic bag in cool water for no more than a few hours, just as you would with meat intended for human consumption. It's a small price to pay for the great health benefits your dogs will see with Paw Naturaw foods.

It's hard to review something that I have not actually tasted, but I can only go by my small dog. Unfortunately she wanted nothing to do with it. Believe me I tried. I even warmed it up hoping she would think it was people food. Nothing. She has congestive heart failure and the doctor recommended a leaner, cleaner diet - but she just refused to touch it.

I must say, however, that it arrived beautifully and efficiently packaged. I was very, very impressed - and especially for the price. Too bad the dog wasn't.

It's organic, raw, very few synthetic vitamins, good formulation of veggies and fruit. Even the cats liked it.
