Through extensive research, Nature Made science experts have identified essential nutrients helpful when taking certain heartburn and acid reflux prescription medication. B Vitamins and Folic Acid: Studies show that people taking heartburn or acid reflux medications over time may have decreased absorption of Vitamin B12. Vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid may reduce homocysteine levels which may help in maintaining bone health. Calcium and Vitamin D: Studies also show that taking acid reflux or heartburn medications over time may lead to decrease absorption of calcium which along with Vitamin D is critical for formation and maintenance of strong bones.
