A great way to kick ulcers!,
5.0 out of 5 stars A great way to kick ulcers!, May 28, 2008 By Judy K. Polhemus My brother Robert has an important birthday on May 31--he will become 60. Although we have a family tradition of not giving presents on birthdays, I am sort of breaking with tradition. Robert will receive a gift bag of these 500 gram L-Lysine tablets. Why on earth would you give him L-Lysine tablets? Well, I say, do you know what L-Lysine tablets can do? No, you say hesitatingly, as I knew you would. Who know abouts L-Lysine except those who know. Just how do I know? And why do I know? Years and years ago my dentist who handled my teeth from the time I was ten years old until he finally, at last, and didn't want to, retired. He was well into his 70's. I adored him!! Anyway, on one visit I had ulcers in my mouth. He said, Don't you take L-Lysine (as all people who are in the know about L-Lysine)? No, I confessed. I don't know what L-Lysine is. He brought out a bottle, popped the cap, shuffled out two tablets, handed them to me and said, Take these. Then he shuffled out a couple for himself and dry swallowed (don't you hate when people do that?). He said, Take these at the first sign of ulcers and they will be gone in no time. From experience over the many years, I can attest that it takes one, maybe two tablets to cure those ulcers. I am not kidding! So last weekend when we gathered for the weekly family meal, Robert showed me his big ulcer under his tongue. "Are you taking L-Lysine?" I asked. "No," he said. "What is L-Lysine?" I told you--only those in the know, well, know. But after May 31, he will be one of them. Here's what else L-Lysine does (taken from the product page) and makes me reconsider only rare use: * Recommended as part of daily regimen for longevity * Aids in calcium absorption and the formation of collagen * May be an important factor in producing energy * 1 bottle, contains 100 tablets So, when will be you in the know? As soon as you know by experience!
