I had intended to purchase New Chapter Perfect Prenatal, 192 Count vitamins due to some online research. A friend actually recommended Nature Made Prenatal Multi + Dha, 200mg, 150 Liquid Softgels. however I decided to go with a separate DHA supplement (NOW Foods DHA-500, 180 Softgels). So I just planned on getting the New Chapter and the DHA supplements. I had these in my cart and somehow managed to not delete them prior to purchasing. I even tried to cancel but it was too late by the time I realized my "mistake".
Am I GLAD I made that mistake. These have in ONE tablet what the New Chapter has in THREE tabs. You might miss it on initial review, but the information on the label for Naturemade is for 1 tab while for NCPP is for THREE!!! And these have 800mcg of folate (recommended is 600 mcg/day in pregnancy, minimum 400), while THREE tabs of the NCPP has 600mcg. Folate and iron are the most important reasons as far as I'm concerned to take prenatals, and Naturemade wins hands down.
These are USP certified (that means easily dissolvable) and have 800 mcg of folate, and good amounts of other essentials as well (iron, etc). Granted, Perfect Prenatals have other essential minerals like selenium which Naturemade doesn't, but again, my biggest goal for PNVs is folate/iron which is better accomplished in leaps and bounds by the naturemade. Plus those are cheaper (250 for under $20).

I am a pharmacist (BA in chemistry and Doctorate in pharmacy) and I spent a TON of time researching prenatals. I mean a TON. I was on drug databases that I have access to at work, read through forums on baby websites and this prenatal is the best that I could come across.

This prenatal vitamin (PNV) was the only brand that I could find that was USP certified- thus meaning, it passes a dissolution test which proves that the vitamins contained within the PNV will be available for your body to absorb and utilize for your potential or growing baby! The tablets are not too large where they are tough to swallow and they do not have an odor associated with them.

I decided to get the formulation without the DHA because that product is not USP certified. I buy a separate liquid DHA/EPA supplement.

I am a pharmacist for Walgreens and even with my employee discount these vitamins are cheaper on Amazon! Great product and I recommend to my patients when they are looking for a suggestion on a PNV. PNV can even be taken as a daily multi-vitamin. You do not have to be pregnant or trying to get pregnant!

I am not pregnant, but everyone said to take a prenatal pill to help with the loss and thinning of my hair. I have noticed a difference, it's thicker around my scalp. It's only been about a month... So we'll see!!!

I would recommend it to any woman trying to be healthy pre-baby, during pregnancy or after! It is small, so very easy to swallow, and is gentle on digestion, which is a plus. My doctor was pleased to know I was taking this particular brand when I had my appointment. These do NOT have DHA so you should take a DHA pill with them

I posted photos of how small the pills are

The ingredient list that is pictured is different than the ingredients on the product I received. I am a vegetarian and there was gelatin in the ingredient list on the product I received.

I'm sure these would be great if I could actually absorb them. I took them for 7 days with breakfast and was sick quite a bit. When I had major acid reflux after eating nothing but plain rice I finally figured out it was the vitamins. As soon as I stopped taking them my stomach settled, but I'm still waiting to regain my energy and hydration. I have IBS and would suggest staying away if you do too!

I'm not pregnant yet so I can't speak to what they are like during pregnancy, but my experience with them so far has been great. The pills are easy to swallow and haven't caused me any nausea symptoms (which I have experienced on other vitamins before). I decided to get Nature Made because my NP recommended them and said they are one of the most "regulated" vitamins (for what it is worth when it comes to regulation on vitamins).

I like that Nature Made doesn't add any extra stuff other than the recommend amounts for prenatal vitamins that I found through various medical websites. Also, Nature Made has omitted dye from the vitamins. I know that some people have expressed concerns about the dye being in previous bottles but the newer version does not have any.

I decided to go with the Prenatal without DHA because I wanted to get a plant based DHA supplement since I couldn't verify where their fish came from.

I used these for hair growth and not the intended use, and so far they are working well. The odor isn't as bad as some vitamins and the shape makes them easier to swallow.
