After trying a number of brands of fish oil, this one is clearly the best. Although it is a bit difficult to swallow due to its width, the capsules are fresh and not spoiled as with many other brands. I always test my fish oil first by cutting open a capsule and checking the odor. If it smells of spoiled fish, it is no good. Nature Made's capsules smell of fish, but I do not detect any spoiled odor at all. As for any health effects, I have only been using these for mood since they have the right balance of EPA to DHA and my cardiovascular health is excellent. Regarding their effects on mood, I can say that they seem to have had the most benefit as well. Other brands I have tried seemed to be inconsistent. I highly recommend this product.

stinky when you open the bottle, but I've been taking them for a couple of weeks now, and I haven't been bothered by fishy tastes or burps. They don't stink when I put them in daily pill containers, instead of leaving them en mass in the bottle.

Seems to be a comprehensive product that we can't find on drugstore shelves any longer.

I give this to my ADHD son because it has the recommended EPA to DHA ratio (5:1) to treat ADHD symptoms. It is said to reduce stress levels which seems to calm him more. I use it in combination with his regular medication and an antioxidant. I've used different brands and sizes of Omega and I'm curently trying this one out. The size of the softgel hasn't been an issue (my son is 7) and he tolerates it well, but instead of the recommended two I only give him one in the morning.
