Fish Oil Helps Support Heart Health
Two softgels of Nature Made Fish Oil supply 720 mg of omega-3s, which are essential for keeping the heart's cell membranes flexible and healthy, and may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Omega-3 fatty acids also help maintain triglyceride levels when they are already in the normal range.

Nature Made Fish Oil supplies more than the recommended daily amount of EPA and DHA, two key omega-3s for heart health. Two softgels provide 360 mg of EPA, 240 mg of DHA, and 120 mg of other omega-3s.

Natural Ingredients for a Healthy Supplement
The sardines and anchovies used to supply Nature Made Fish Oil come from deep ocean waters, not from fish farms. Each batch of fish oil is tested to ensure that there are no detectable levels of PCBs, dioxins, or heavy metals like lead or mercury.

Nature Made follows the manufacturing and testing standards established by the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), the standards-setting body recognized by the FDA. Nature Made's fish oil products were the first to receive the USP Dietary Supplement Verification Seal (DSVP) for purity, quality, and potency.

Nature Made Fish Oil 1200 mg is made from carefully selected ingredients under strict manufacturing processes. This product contains no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, yeast, starch, or gluten (it does contain soy).

This is a side-by-side comparison of ten leading omega-3 fish oil supplements: OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil, Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold, Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula, Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega, Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega, Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil, Now Ultra Omega-3, UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000, Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3, and Nature Made Fish Oil.

There are three major components of omega-3 in these products: EPA (which is good for your heart, circulatory system, lowering triglycerides, depression and mood orientation, and is a powerful anti-inflammatory for soothing joint pains), DHA (which is good for your mental acuity, or if you are pregnant, nursing an infant, or for children), and "other." Other omega-3s, like DPA and SDA, are types of fatty acids which are easily converted to EPA in the body. In most fish oils, the amount of these other fatty acids is low, but in highly concentrated oils, it can be a significant amount. The important components are EPA and DHA.

BREAKDOWN: Here is a breakdown of these supplements.

The true dose is only revealed by adding the EPA and the DHA. One softgel has 216 mg of EPA and 144 mg of DHA. So, one softgel has 360 mg of helpful fish oil and the remaining 840 mg is filler fish oil.

When comparing fish oil, look at the back panel supplement facts. Add the EPA and DHA to get the true MG and make sure you look at the serving size. Nature made has 2 softgels per serving size, so you must divide by 2 to get the per softgel info.

Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega or Twin Labs Mega appear to be better choices.

Fish oil is the only food supplement that my doctor wholeheartedly recommends to every patient who asks about supplements. In my case, she said that it might help with elevated triglyceride levels and joint pain, as well as having other possible benefits. It does appear to have helped, although I took the fish oil in conjunction with diet changes and exercise.

When I first shopped for fish oil, there were several brands that stood out. Since I had used Nature Made products, I trusted the brand, so that's what I ordered. One of my concerns was contaminated fish oils. The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) has an online listing of dozens of brands of fish oil, with a rating that reflects the amount of contaminants like mercury and dioxins that are in the product. Nature Made fish oil made the "Best Choice" level. I also appreciated that the Nature Made Fish Oil states the source - anchovies, sardines, and mackerel - whereas many brands do not state the source, probably because some species of fish are known to have high levels of contaminants.

Unlike some brands of fish oil that I've tried, I have never had any fishy-tasting burps with this product.

For safety and effectiveness, I have been very satisfied with Nature Made Fish Oil.

It works. I don't have fish-burps, my doctor is happy with my health and there are no fish burps. Did I mention the burps?

Alright, I'm going to get personal with you strangers. I read a review on Amazon that said fish oil + Psyllium Husk = easy pooping.

I'm a woman and I'm pretty damned particular about how clean places like that end up. Wipes are bad for the earth, and the plumbing system, so when I learned about this I had to try it.

My husband is an absolute King of skidmarks. I have always doubted he ever wiped at all. This could not be the source of another condescending argument between us again.

And my teenage son was clogging the toilet a lot. Listen, he's a teenager so he's an idiot who doesn't listen to his parents about how to properly go poop.

So all 3 of us got on the combination of this FISH OIL and the PSYLLIUM HUSK. And within probably a week it was like a miracle. Taking a poop was no longer as nasty as before because we only needed to wipe once. ONCE. No kidding. Cleanest poops ever. Yea, sometimes if we eat something outside of our normal diet things get a little dodgy back there -- but that's short term and you should probably ask Jamie Lee Curtis for a suggestion.

Also, we take the maximum dose. And there are no restrictions or interactions that our doctors have mentioned.

Unless fish oil is molecularly distilled, it is loaded with very harmful levels of mercury and contaminants. Be aware and wise. Quality matters.

Check out this link: [...]
When fish oil is molecularly distilled, this means the oil is steamed out of the fish, and then sent through a second, low-temperature process to separate heavy metals and polychlorinated biphenyls out of the product.
There are many mass-marketed brands of fish oil that skip this decontamination step. You shouldn't buy these products. But there are better and worse ways to do molecular distillation.

Cheap molecular distillation. The cheaper way to do a molecular distillation of fish oil is to mix it with a solvent called hexane. The hexane binds to the impurities, and then the mixture is heated to about 110° F (44° C) to evaporate the hexane. The fact is, not a lot of hexane stays in the fish oil. But the little bit that does creates an entirely new toxin!

Found this reference and link to fish oil buyers guide:
PS: the better absorption of undistilled oil is irrelevant because undistilled oil is a cocktail of contaminants. No doctor recommends supplementing with extra PCB and heavy metal. Every government in the world recommends capping even whole fish consumption very aggressively.[...]
There is an abundance of research documenting the potential damage and lack of absorption when using lesser quality fish oil If you investigate, you'll find you can spend your money on a quality fish oil, which is not this product.
