Great, easy read ... highly recommended, January 1, 2006
This review is from: Nature Never Stops Talking: The Wonderful Ingenuity of Nature (Paperback)
Samuel Alibrando has assembled a wonderful series of articles and short stories that are ideally suited for the person with "snippets" of time to read. The articles are thought-provoking and written in an engaging manner and not the in-your-face here's how it is dictation style. At the end of each article you can really sense the author's desire to have you think about his points and come to your own conclusions.
A great book ... highly recommended.

Thoroughly "reader friendly" and scientifically enlightening, September 14, 2005
This review is from: Nature Never Stops Talking: The Wonderful Ingenuity of Nature (Paperback)
Author, songwriter, and naturally inquisitive, Samuel Alibrando draws from his newspaper column some one hundred "bite-size" articles celebrating the concept of Intelligent Design, and along the way surveys a wide range of examples of nature in some rather unusual, insightful, and occasionally inspiring observations in Nature Never Stops Talking: The Wonderful Ingenuity Of Nature. Thoroughly "reader friendly" and scientifically enlightening, Alibrando groups his succinct commentaries such sections as "Earth and Space", "Scientific Properties", "The Small Stuff", "Beginnings", "Plants and Trees", "Insects", "Specific Creatures", "DNA", "The Human Body", and "Yeah, What About That?". Enhanced with an extensive appendices and a comprehensive Index, Nature Never Stops Talking is informed and informative reading that is as inherently interesting as it is factually engaging. Nature Never Stops Talking would make an exceptionally popular addition to any community library collection or curious nature lover's personal reading list.

a must-read!, May 25, 2011
This review is from: Nature Never Stops Talking: The Wonderful Ingenuity of Nature (Paperback)
Knowing I was interested in the debate over intelligent design, a friend loaned me this book. I read it occasionally for a few weeks, and was hooked, so I bought my own copy. It is a compilation of columns written for a newspaper in California, so each article is short and to the point. The book is about nature and science and how things work, written so a layman could understand. It is appropriate for an older child, or to be read and explained by a parent to younger children. Every time I pick it up and read another article, I learn something! For example, I learned that water is unique as a liquid in that when it turns solid (freezes) it gets lighter, not heavier, so the ice is on top of a pond or lake. The ramifications of that fact for life as we know it are immense. Now, I knew that ice floated (my ice-cubes do), so that was not new to me, but what was new to me were the details of that fact and the impact that such a phenomena has on living creatures like me. Buy the book, you will not be disappointed!
