Perfect Parrot Funny Video!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Nature: Parrots...Look Who's Talking [VHS] (VHS Tape)
"Parrots...Look Who's Talking" is so funny. I once saw it on PBS and wished that I could get it. Now, available here at Amazon.com and pet stores nationwide, this video will surley entertain you for years to come. All bird lovers will love this video. From Parakeets, African Greys, colorful variety of many Amazons, to the beautiful variety of Macaws, they are displayed in homes and in their natural environments and habitats. All behavior types is shown from loving, to birds pulling pranks on their owners. You can enjoy parrots singing and watch them perform amazing tricks. Like other reviewers, I must agree that there is one sad scene. This scene refers to a particular type of parrot species that was invading farmers' fields and some farmers took cruel action. An additional scene is where birds that were taken from bad places to a good place. These birds though all now live in a good environment. Not much time is spent on the disturbing issues, as 90% of the video made me laugh. My favorite scene is where an African Grey Parrot says "Look What You've Done" that he learned from his owner. Bird lovers are guaranteed to love this video. This video is more entertaining and informative on birds in their environment and does not show an owner how to teach your bird tricks, but the humor and appreciation in this amazing Parrot video is worth it all! If you own a parrot or other bird that is responsive to sounds, you will find that playing this tape where they can hear it will bring out a funny response in your bird! Kaytee.com, a non-profit organization I must add, is a very good bird site to visit. Birds you see on that site, you will see in the video! Now fly to the checkout button and laugh together with your bird and family in a few days when it arrives in your mail!!!!

This is a wonderful video, and should be shown in the schools, to give students an understanding of the capabilities of these marvelous bird, and appreciate nature. No the parrots do not just mimic what they hear but display a comprehension far beyond anything you could imagine. It is fun and a joy to watch their antics. I wound up owning an Africa Grey, as a direct result of this video, and yes he is a delight to the whole family. If you want to add a little humour to your day watch this video, it is a sure cure for for a bad mood.

A Fascinating Look at Feathered Friends,

I loved this video. It not only shows the amazing abilites of pet birds, but shares information on parrots in the wild. A few words of caution- the video does show a wild parrot being shot by a farmer, and it also shows a woman hitting her pet. The video also has a scene where pet birds are shown in a shelter for unwanted animals, referring to "disposable pet syndrome"- a very sad part of this otherwise wonderful video. I feel the majority of this video is heart-warming and fun, and shows the viewer the true wonder of these chatty, playful bundles of feathers

A well balanced tape on parrots,

Being accustomed to watching "Nature" on my local PBS channel, and listening the marvelous voice of George Paige (who in my opinion has the perfect voice for nature narration), this will not disappoint those that have the high standards that "Nature" brings. This shows all sides of Parrots and is quite informative and captivating to watch both the wild and pet parrots. I am especially happy that Dr. Irene Pepperberg's hard work has made it into this video. She has been tireless in her 20 years of hard work and has proven that african grey parrots are as intelligent as dolphins and chimpanzees. If you have a grey, you must get a copy of her book AND videotape entitled "Teaching Your African Grey The Alex Way." I rate that video five-plus stars.

Excellant video which should be viewed by anyone thinking about adopting a large bird with such intelligent natures. Shows wild, domestic, good side, bad side, beauty, and seriousness of these fine creations of God's earthly kingdom.

If you love parrots you'll love this video. It basicaly shows some characteristics of parrots in the wild, and some as pets. Though I do warn if you have a soft hart there are parts of the video that shows disturbing realities when it comes to ignorant bird owners..... My Quaker Parrot named Eve loves to watch programs of wild birds so she also loved this video. I really do recomend this video if you like watching parts of nature....it makes people think, and want to conserve the beauty of it for years to come.

This video is very entertaining. One can not ever get tired of watching it. I have seen it about 5 times now and keep finding new and interesting pieces in the video. I showed it at one of my bird club meeting and everyone just loved it. There are not many bird videos out there and this one makes up for that. In this video you get to see how intelligent and beautiful the birds are. I hope everyone buys and enjoys this as much as I have.

This is just a wonderful video that shows how intelligent and sensitive birds are. I hope that people who watch it realize that like with parrots is fun and exciting, but that not every parrot is so ccuddly and funny as those featured here. That doesn't mean they aren't good pets, but one REALLY needs to think long and hard before getting one...just look at the poor creatures at the end who have been neglected and mistreated. All animals deserve love and attention. And parrots require LOTS of attention, but are SOO worth it!

I was so happy to find this video. I remember watching this on PBS when it aired and was so impressed that I actually wanted to own this video.
Item came as advertised. And I immediately opened and placed it in the VCR and watched it from beginning to end. As a parrot companion owner I strongly suggest that you watch this video. If you're not, watch it anyway. It may change your life. |
