I was on vacation in NW Canada Rockies area and discovered this book in a little shop, and I couldn't leave the country without it (just in case I couldn't find it quick enough in the US). It's beyond "plants" you ID with. There's ceremonies (like making a staff -- or celebrating Solstice etc), a dictionary of landscapes (why are you drawn to oceans), magical rhythms (like seasons, angels, etc) ... even the meaning of numbers in nature (why did you plant two birches?) And of course the expected definition of plants, trees, flowers, etc. (Marigold: "keynote: words have healing power; sacrifice out of love if necessary." "It is a flower of love and sacrifice")

I really really liked this book. It was relatively aimed at Wiccans and Pagans, but it had very nice information, both of a spiritual nature, and scientifically so, about all sorts of herbs, flowers, and trees. Some of the exercises seemed a little weird to me, but to each his own- someone might really benefit from these. I see the outdoors as an even more beautiful place after reading this book. Its definately worth buying!

After reading this book, you will not look at the world the same. Andrews points out simple ways to find the Divine in the everyday. A simple walk outside in your yard can be an act of worship!

This book tells us about the wonders of nature, animals and the hidden spirit worlds. Two great exercises for calming your mind and body, information for nature gifts are here for you. Guided meditations and nature visualations make this book a valuable tool to learn and grow. Ted Andrews presents nature and it's glory in a perfect way. The book has one problem-the descriptions of flowers, trees and landscapes must come from your own interpreting,from your own understanding, from your own memories, not what the author suggests. In general, very good book for wonders of nature.

Just like my copy of Animal Speak, Nature Speak has come loose at the binder and has separated into several different sections now from so much use! As a shamanic practitioner and teacher, Nature Speak is opened and perused and read and reread at least 20 times per week. This resource is a must to own as you will want to look things up over and over again along your spiritual journey. As an author of several books on shamanism and healing, Seeing in the Dark: Claim Your Own Shamanic Power Now and in the Coming Age, Energy for Life: Connect with the Source (Next Step), and Inner Power: Six Techniques for Increased Energy & Self-Healing I have a deep appreciation for the concise and beauitful way Ted shares his gifts of explanation and description of the gifts of Nature and Spirit with the world. Sometimes information received through journeys or direct knowing is difficult to understand and interpret. Having a resource such as this to use as a guidepost along the personal journey is a real blessing. Thank you Ted!

Ted Andrews provides powerful insights into how nature elements speak to us each day, if we pay attention to their messages. I recommend this book for anyone who loves spending time in nature.

this book is too good to even explain in words,some books are meant for passing on to others,however this one is a treasured keeper,everyone should have a copy

It was amazing when I discovered the reasons nature and the different varieties of landscapes spoke to me without really being concious of it and why! A good introduction to learning to how to look at Mother Nature in a unique and personal way! I learned she has even more to offer than her wonder and beauty!

I wish I'd have this book years ago when I was first starting down the nature-based spiritual path. Like Ted's other books, this is packed full of useful and interesting information, some of which is available elsewhere -- sure -- but much is unique to his work. This is a valuable resource and I highly recommend it to all who are seeking a more grounded, whole, and alive relationship with natural awareness.

I started using this book right away for resource information on the Autumnal Equinox and other things pertinent to my present experience. That's the beauty of this book. Pick it up anytime and find out about your relationship with all the nature around you NOW.
