4.0 out of 5 stars VERY yummy, but kinda difficult to eat
The price I bought this at was impossible to refuse, and the bars themselves are delicious, but they're very hard to bite and end up crumbling into a mess. I bought them to eat between classes on campus, and have found myself making messes everywhere I eat them. I think they would probably be good crumbled into yogurt or something, but if you have sensitive teeth they...

2.0 out of 5 stars Half of them were stale - Buyer Beware!
I didn't realize how stale they were until I bought a new box in the grocery store. If they are not crispy to the bite, they are stale, and many of these were.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great price, easy breakfast on the go., March 19, 2007

Even though I know it's important to eat breakfast, I seldom do it; I'd rather sleep a little longer. These breakfast bars are a nice easy way to solve the problem. I keep a box in the car and munch on them on the way to work in the morning...they're whole grain, nice and filling, and taste good to boot. They're also a nice treat on the way home. The Oats and Honey are my favorite, but the variety pack provides a nice change. All of the flavors are tasty: peanut butter, cinnamon, maple sugar - all yummy.

I can't give an objective review of these. I bought them for my kids and they vanished quickly. Maybe that's all you really need to know. :-)

4.0 out of 5 stars They're Good if You like Granola Bars, April 3, 2011

They're the same ones you get from the grocery store. They have several months left before expiration date. They arrived in good condition. They're dry bars by design- so they crumble easily- so expect some broken bars- you're gonna chew it up anyway so don't have a hissy fit if they're not all perfect. At $2 to $2.50 per box with free s/h it's a great deal. It's getting easier to have most groceries delivered these days. Dry goods and staples and paper products. Even fruit and veggies if you like them canned or dried. You can even get milk if you like it powdered. If we can only get Amazon to deliver yogurt and ice cream and cheeses and....

Thanks Amazon- for making it easier for those of us who can't get out on our own very easily- for bringing the groceries to us. The free s/h is a real bonus/blessing. I'm disabled so it's especially helpful to me. I suppose there are busy people or just plain lazy people who also appreciate it.

If you like granola bars, this comes with a nice variety. Also got the Cinnamon only and Oat's N Honey only packs since those are my favorites. Items were fresh -- rcvd. mid-Nov and "Best By" date is July 2010.

5.0 out of 5 stars The extra calories you may need, March 26, 2009
This review is from: Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bars, Variety Pack of Cinnamon, Oats 'n Honey, and Peanut Butter, 12-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I have been a fan of Nature Valley granola bars for years. They come in many varieties. My favorites lately have been the Peanut Butter bars, but I also like the other types. So, I was pleased to learn that Amazon now offers the bars in a variety pack.

Certainly, Oats and Honey are a classic combination. Oats go way back. Samuel Johnson included a definition of oats in his 1755 Dictionary of the English Language. Samuel Johnson said: "Oats: A grain, which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland appears to support the people." Little did he know that two and a half centuries later, England's colonial offspring would enthusiastically endorse oats as a food for people.

Earlier this month, I spent a week skiing in Colorado at Vail, The ticket counters were equipped with baskets of the Oats and Honey bars provided free of charge. It was a nice gesture considering the almost $100 daily ticket price. The granola bars pack 90 calories for a single bar, and obviously double that for a two-bar pack.

I took the Oats bars with me skiing, but I also depend on them for hiking. An extra 180 calories is what you may need to give you enough energy to get up the last 180 feet to a mountain summit. The taste is good. They do not melt. If you get tired of the Oats, there is always a choice, e.g. Peanut Butter, etc., to provide variety.
