5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Granola Bar
These granola bars are twin-wrapped and contain 90 calories per bar. They're very crunchy, but the peanut butter flavor is intense and fresh, not overly sweet like a cookie tends to be...perfect for curbing a craving for real peanut butter. These are so good that you'll likely to be disappointed at not eating the crumbs from each bite.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as heathful of a snack as you might think
The good news is that the peanut butter flavor of these granola bars is really good. When I first bit into one, I immediately thought I was eating a peanut butter cookie. They're very reminiscent of a Girl Scout peanut butter cookie, minus the cream filling of course.

That brings me to the bad news. While a serving of these granola bars has a tad less fat...

That brings me to the bad news. While a serving of these granola bars has a tad less fat and sugar than a cookie, the difference isn't great. If you don't believe me, just look at the nutritional information for a Nutter Butter cookie here. That doesn't mean that this isn't a good snack to have on occasion. These are a healthier alternative than a candy bar, for example, but they're really not much different than a cookie. In other words, even though most people would equate granola bars with health food, one must be careful not to overindulge in these.

These are a great mid day snack. Love that there are two bars in each packet--pair these with a glass of milk and you have a wonderful, healthy mid day treat. In both bars, there are 190 calories and 7 grams of fat, plus 2 grams of fiber. They are the perfect solution to satisfying a sweet tooth!! The subscribe and save price makes the 6 packages a great deal, especially when it is on sale (frequently).

I must not have noticed the "crunchy" part in the title, cause they are very hard. I mean they are still good, but I just wasn't expecting them to be that hard.

5.0 out of 5 stars still love these after 20+ years, May 13, 2010

I have been eating these for years and still love them. This is my favorite variety and if you love peanut butter, you'll love it also. Very crunchy and a good mid-day snack, certainly better an a candy bar or the other stuff available in most office vending machines. Great for road trips. Is there anything these bars can't do? ;)

For an earlier reviewer, I don't see anywhere on the package where it is claimed that this is a "health food". However, whole grains should be an important part of our diets, and I'll bet your Girl Scout cookies and the Nutter Butters are not made with whole grains. I love peanut butter and I really appreciate how much peanut butter flavor there in these granola bars, but the calories per serving are only 180. For anyone who has never had a Nature Valley granola bar, they come 2 in a pouch and 2 are considered one serving. In size I would say the pouch would equal 4 small/medium cookies. A tip on the crunchiness: These almost crumble when you bite into them, and depending on where you are eating, that can be inconvenient. Here is what I do with ALL of the NV granola bars, whether I'm at a table, in a recliner, or driving down the road. First, I break both the bars into 3 crosswise. I then break each of those thirds once, crosswise. Then I open the pouch along the lengthwise seam. There are far fewer "crumbs" left in the pouch then you would have created preparing to and eating them any other way I can think of.
Thank you AMAZON, and thanks for the new subscription service. I live in a very remote area and it is a real crap shoot what flavors will be in the stores any given week.

I am not a good label reader nor a health nut person but I do know what I like. These are great!

I started buying a case of these - looked ok and they had peanut butter on granola bars. What is not to like? I am 78 and we all need a little roughage. So I ordered them. Now I have reordered and the thing I like best is they are filling. I have a cup of hot chocolate with a little coffee in it - at my desk - with a Peanut Butter Nature Valley Bar. It works for me. (You can dunk them when no one is watching)

Thinking of trying the other ones but these seem to be a winner. They are messy so you need a napkin to clean up - but try them.

Let me know if you have tried the others!

I LOVE these bars because they are dairy, rice AND gluten free (I am allergic to all of those. They fill me up and keep me going longer than most other granola bars do, and they also taste delicious.

As someone else mentioned, the taste is somewhat reminiscent of the peanut butter Girl Scout sandwich cookies. As a college student, I just throw some of these in my backpack and when hunger strikes these are ready at hand. I like them because they don't make me feel sick after eating a bunch of them like potato chips do. Also, because they are whole grain, they supply good, long-lasting energy. I ordered the variety pack first, but found myself wishing the cinnamon and honey ones were peanut butter. Needless to say, I was very happy when this peanut butter only pack went on sale. You can have your variety- I'll take my peanut butter!

Always love to keep these on hand to grab on the go. The price kept going up at my local grocery and at the supermarket, so I figured I'll try amazon to see if it's cheaper here. MUCH cheaper here, and if you choose "subscribe and save" you save even more! Had to buy 6 boxes at once, but that's only 36 packs of bars (boxes say 12 bars, but they're packed 2 bars per pack, with a whole pack usually eaten at once). Would definitely check prices here again before I purchase it next.
