Works great, is compact easy to view and understand!! Love it.

I bought my Showdown last year (nov 09) and used it quite abit throught the winter. Overall I like the unit. I like the graph better than the flashers. It works as is shown in the vid on their website. Those are the positives. A couple of items I don't like are the soft case,which absorbs water and will freeze to the ice if it sets in slush around your hole, also the flap on the front will blow around if it's windy and will blow shut, so you have to cobble a way to keep it open. A couple of times that it got wet from snow falling on it, the unit got condensation inside the screen. Never a problem if you keep it dry. The rubber stopper on the transducer cord didn't take long to fall off and of course fell in the hole and sunk. Get an extra one for a back-up.

I purchased this back when it was a 3.(something)thanks to the upgrade policy. I upgraded to 5.6 for a nominal fee. It is a digital unit so I will always be able to upgrade my unit as long as it is a software upgrade. The fee was nominal ($50). My unit is reliable, easy to use. The response time is as close to real time as you can get. It has a fine rejection system so when an angler is fishing close by you will be able to dial out the interference from them. It has an internal heating unit to keep it functioning at it's peak (I always use the heater). Even with the heater going the charge seems to last for days. You have the ability zoom in one foot increments.

Negatives: The plastic arm that holds the transducer. I hate it, it gets in the way and I have heard it is easily breakable. Mine never broke, but I removed it after one day of fishing, and purchased a float devise from a flasher manufacturer. Works like a charm.
