NATY quietly changes formula and removes organic ingredients. FAIL!, January 20, 2011
This review is from: Nature babycare Eco-Sensitive Fragrance-Free Wipes, 70-count Boxes (Pack of 10) (Health and Beauty)
Being Mr. Mom, I'm not a big time reviewer of baby things, but I had to speak out about this. My wife and I have been using these ECO-Sensitive wipes for almost two years. At first we loved them. The cleaning power, but gentle as well. We recently ordered our next batch a few weeks ago, and I'm very unhappy. NATY had changed the formula a month or so ago, and removed the organic ingredients from the composition. They quietly did this and didn't let people know. In fact, the formula is very different! They now also contain a light but odd smell. I wrote to NATY about this, and this is the email that I got:
Hi (name),
Thanks for taking the time to contact us. We are grateful for your loyalty to Nature babycare. We apologize for the delay in responding to you.
Your feedback and comments regarding our wipes are incredibly valuable to us. Thank you for providing the information below so that we can report it back to our factory. We changed suppliers at the beginning of the year to utilize their advanced technology in eco-friendliness, as well as, the potential to ramp up production in order to keep up with the demand for our products.
We are constantly striving to improve and changes in design sometimes occur but should never compromise the quality of our products. Please know that our formula is the same. However, it is possible that any variance of measurements in the dosage of the moisture ingredients could create a different smell. We very rarely have issues regarding our scent so we will definitely investigate how this could happen.
We certainly appreciate your honesty in reporting your concern. Be assured that we only use natural ingredients in our wipes as they are the "greenest" on the market. If you would like to contact Amazon.com to request replacement product or a refund, they will be happy to assist you.
Sincerely,
Stephanie

The email says the formula is the same, but I have the packaging from both new batch and previous batch. They are NOT the same. I have decided to look for another wipe. It's too bad, NATY could have had a customer for the next child too.
A concerned dad.
Update on 3/11/11:
Here is formula from the old packaging and the new packaging
Original formula label:
Aqua (Water), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Gel)*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Coco-Glucoside, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin. *Certified Organic. Wipes made of biodegradable viscose
New formula label:
Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Gel), Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Panthenol, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Citrate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Citric Acid.
Update on 4/13/11:
We just started using our newly ordered Tushies Wipes
TushiesWipes, Unscented Natural Formula with Aloe, 80 Wipe Pop-up Tubs (Pack of 12) They're available in plastic tubs or refills for the same price. Made in the USA, the wipes come out to $.027/wipe as opposed the NATY which is slightly cheaper at $.022/wipe. The Tushies wipes are much thicker and separate easier, but they are made from a paper fiber which means that they can tear on rough wiping. If you're using the wipe on your baby's bottom, and face, you won't (I would hope not) exert enough force for them to tear. Here are the ingredients to Tushies as specialized on the packaging:
Water, Aloe Vera, Glycerin-Vegetable Derived, Allantoin, Panthenol, Vitamin E, Tartaric Acid, Potassium Sorbate.

Disappointed in new size, June 12, 2010
This review is from: Nature babycare Eco-Sensitive Fragrance-Free Wipes, 70-count Boxes (Pack of 10) (Health and Beauty)
I have used these wipes for over 2 years and I have always been very happy with them. My daughter has very sensitive skin and these were the only ones that didn't make her break out. ( I also use the diapers and love them!) There was always the occasional problem of the wipes not separating properly but it was tolerable because the wipes were so good. But I was very disappointed with my last shipment when I realized the size was smaller, the separation problem has gotten worse and they seem dryer than before. It now takes more wipes to clean a poopy diaper, which is very wasteful, and they don't pull apart well. You'll get 4 or 5 in a row stuck together and then they will totally break apart and you have to dig down into the package for the next one. I hope more people will write in if you've experienced these issues. I really want to use these wipes again but I am currently trying Seventh Generation and Tushies again to see if I can be happy with them. Its so unfortunate when companies think that skimping on their products will save them money when it will actually lose them money by losing customers.

BEWARE - these contain phenoxyethenol, January 24, 2011
This review is from: Nature babycare Eco-Sensitive Fragrance-Free Wipes, 70-count Boxes (Pack of 10) (Health and Beauty)
I have been using the Nature Babycare diapers and wipes since my son was born and have always been very happy with them, HOWEVER, I recently re-checked the ingredient list on the wipes and was SHOCKED to see phenoxyethenol as an ingredient. There are also a couple other (less toxic) ingredients in their aloe wipes. I am not sure why or when they changed their formulation (SHAME ON THEM!!) but I have written to the company in hopes of getting more information. This is disappointing and so very frustrating! If you are looking for a chemical free option try Jackson Reece Herbal Baby Wipes - they contain ONLY aloe, tea tree oil, lavender essential oil and purified water. Hopefully they keep it that way! UGH!
