Did I want to pay $100 for something you can buy a "mainstream" version of for $25? Of course not. But, if you read up on the dangers of vinyl (which is what's covering the cheapies, not to mention the toxic foam inside) you'll run screaming back to this $100 changing pad.I mean, when you think about it, your baby is on it a lot. Mine is already 16 months old, and he's had a 2-minute diaper change 6 to 8 times a day every day of his life, so let's do the math... Let's pretend he's only a year to keep it simple... 16 minutes a day times 365 days is 5,840 minutes, divided by 60 mins in an hour, that comes to 97 hours of his life he's been laying on the changing pad! That is significant. That's a lot of time he could have been inhaling phthalates from a vinyl-covered changing pad. So, just bite the bullet, get this one, and rest easy knowing you did the best for your little one. But if you can only afford to go all-out on one purchase, I would splurge on a non-toxic latex mattress before the changing pad. We got one from Savvy Rest that is made of latex with a wool topper, and it has been wonderful. The mattress exposure is obviously more significant than the changing pad, but thank the Lord we can afford both, so we went for it, and I'd glad we did. Oh, and how about what the pad is like (I almost forgot!)... Well, it is soft and cushy, the four walls could be a little higher to keep him from bopping his head on the bar of the changing table (that is why it didn't get 5 stars from me)... And it's a little crinklier than I imagined because they don't use toxic adhesives to glue the cover to the foam inside, so the cover is kind of "hovering" over the top, and since it has that polyethylene coating, it's a tad crinkly. But I'm glad it has the coating because it prevents it from being ruined in the event of a poopy situation, which is very important. You don't want to permanently stain your precious $100 changing pad. :)

It's organic, it's truly durable and well made in the USA- not China! It's easy to clean and it fits perfect on the changing table. It's simply the best changing mattress on the market. Yes, it is expensive but worth the money instead of having to replace the cheap ones made with toxic chemicals every couple of months (or weeks)- read the reviews on any other ones, especially the ones that seem like a bargain at under $50 bucks... this is worth the money especially when it can be used for changing multiple siblings, multiple times a day on a daily basis and you don't see any signs of wear and tear. I used the one that came with the changing table for 1 week and it had a tear in the center of it and we even had a cover on the darn thing! You get what you pay for and this company is sound.

This changing pad is very sturdy and appears to be comfortable for our baby. The contour is perfect in that it keeps him in, but is not too deep. Next to being in our arms, the changing table (with this changing pad) is our baby's favorite place to be. We have enjoyed hours of what we call "kick kick time on the table." I don't have another changing pad to compare it to, but I can say that this one is great and I expect it will last until we are out of the diaper phase! I also greatly appreciate that it is not toxic. It definitely feels natural, never had a chemical smell, etc.

This changing pad is great, but in hindsight I don't think I would spend $100 on a changing pad again.Details: Sturdy, yet soft. Water-proof. Organic. Large enough to fit on the table we're using for a changing table and yet still have room for diapers etc. Neutral color. We also bought the $30 Naturepedic Organic Changing Cover. I'm fairly frugal in my greenness so I'll use this Pad happily and put it away for the next little one. But, if I had to do it all over again, I would've purchased a Pad for half as much, and then put an organic cotton cover on it. Now that I see it in comparison to less-expensive, non-green Pads, I'm not sure I really see that much difference. And how much time is baby going to be on the Pad? It's not a crib mattress. Did we really need a $100 organic Pad to change diapers on? My thoughts...probably not.

I thought long and hard before shelling out the money for this changing pad. After all, it's not like the baby is sleeping there... the exposure to any PVC/vinyl, flame retardants, etc. in a standard pad is thus relatively minimal. But in the end, I decided an organic pad was important because a) we were expecting twins, and expected that a less sturdy, standard pad would need to be replaced once or twice in any case -- thus neutralizing the cost in the long run; b) over the course of the babies' 2-3 diapering years, that still seemed like a lot of unnecessary toxin exposure that I could eliminate by buying this pad.And I'm so glad I did. This pad really puts standard changing pads to shame. It's very well constructed (is it too much to describe a changing pad as elegant??), could last through several kids -- let alone our twins, and clearly both babies find it very comfortable. Note that not all of the standard changing pad covers that we used with our twins' older sister will fit easily on this pad, although the stretchier ones do. I suppose that this pad must be slightly longer than a standard pad. I bought one of the coordinating covers (which fit very well and is also very well constructed) and will likely need to buy a few more.

This is a good changing pad, my only bit of confusion is how to attach it to the furniture. It seems that two snaps need to be fitted right into the furniture. Some simple directions would have been helpful but were not included.

I used the free super saver shipping and never expected it to arrive so fast. I am not due until the middle of January but I just purchased the changing table and needed a changing pad that didn't smell like chemicals out of the bag. This one doesn't, it's soft, I really like how it is a deep pocket to keep baby safe (not like the cheapos). Now all I am waiting for is the covers I ordered.

This changing pad is well worth the extra money, not only because it is organic and eco-friendly but because it is quite simply, better made, softer, and more comfortable, than ANY changing pad we have ever owned or seen in-person. I hesitated at first to spend 2-3 times as much on this changing pad (compared to others) but given that baby is exposed to so many things in our often "toxic" environment already, why not spend a little more money on something that you can control (which is safer for your little one). The pad is so plush and soft that even without a cover, baby would be comfortable on this changing pad. I highly recommend this changing pad to friends and would but it again without any hesitation!

This changing pad seems much thicker and sturdier than others I've seen and I like that it's organic since my baby doesn't need to be exposed to harmful toxins. It's a little pricey but I figure my son's longterm health is worth it.

I bought this for my sister to use with her new baby, and she loves it. It fits perfectly on her changing table, looks nice and is very soft to the touch. Clean-up is a breeze too.
