1.0 out of 5 stars way bigger than it says it is!
Need to return it as it is -way- bigger than its size and we cant fit it on the crib without it bunching and causing a hazard. Just measured it - it is 31x54.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Organic Crib Mattress Protector, April 15, 2009

I had previously purchased one of these from another company for my upcoming son in a few days, and I have a daughter who I have been using another organic brand one for but was not really liking it. So, I decided to try the one I bought for him in her bed (since he was not born yet)and loved it so much that I had to rebuy him one. Awesome price especially for being organic. Believe me, I have been price shopping these since I was pregnant with my daughter. It has not shrunk on me at all (problem with last brand) and works great when my daughter has leaks!!! Definite buy!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth the money, March 3, 2009

This is a fantastic pad. It's quite thin, and I had my doubts that it would keep the mattress dry (my baby is a real spitter)--but it does, amazingly well (I am constantly amazed how much it can absorb and still leave the mattress completely dry, not even a spot). And it washes very well. Plus it's organic!--genuinely organic, not like some of the products marketed as organic but not 100% so. It has been well worth the money.

My son has really sensitive skin and was intrigued when I came across this product. It seemed too good to be true, but I purchased it anyway. It is fabulous. The whole pad is soft and comfy, so much that my son threw a fit when I was placing it under his sheet. It does not have that plastic crinkly sound to it. I have already washed it a few times and just keeps getting softer. It did not let any of our sons accident seep through to the mattress. It is a great size, I use it on our son's toddler bed. Great Product.

I was looking for a wool puddle pad, but they were all pretty expensive. What I like about this pad is it has the same qualities of a wool puddle pad, but is less expensive. Also unlike a wool pad this can be tossed in the dryer to dry, not hang dry. It fits on top of the matress and remains in place with the help of fitted sheet. Much better than a crib mattress pad, more protection and better material. Keeps my baby warm and dry, wicks away sweat, and is natural, no off gasing of plastics or flame retardents! Love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Affordable Organic crib pad, February 16, 2009
This review is from: Naturepedic Waterproof Flat Crib Pad, 28x52 (Baby Product)
I was looking for a cotton waterproof crib pad to avoid that horrible plastic stuff that always melts in my dryer. This one seems great. It is easy to put beneath the crib sheets, doesn't smell bad and is soft. My little one isn't at the age of accidents yet so I can't vouch for how well the waterproofing works but my test with a little water spilt on top makes it seem like it will hold up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product but may not need it for Naturepedic Mattress, July 18, 2011

I bought this to put over our Naturepedic Lightweight Classic 2 Stage mattress for extra protection. It seems like it's made of heavy duty canvas so am sure it will hold up to any messes. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars (vs. 5 for all our other Naturepedic items - crib mattress, changing pad, cradle mattress) is because this is probably overkill if you have a naturepedic mattress already. It's very thick and I got this instead of the FITTED crib pad because those reviews made it seem like the fitted pad took a long time to dry. Either way, it's still great quality and would be great if you don't have a waterproof mattress to begin with.

This mattress protector works wonderfully and washes and dries very well.
We use it on our sons bed that is a bit longer than a typical toddler bed (the critter bed from IKEA).
I love that the fabric is 100% organic cotton.
A great item and well worth the price.
Note that the mattress protector may arrive a bit bigger than stated on the website, but will shrink to the size described aftre a few cycles of washing and drying.

2.0 out of 5 stars I wish it had been a touch smaller, July 10, 2010
This review is from: Naturepedic Waterproof Flat Crib Pad, 28x52 (Baby Product)
I was a bit frustrated with this mattress pad. I bought the flat one because our Naturepedic mattress is a really tight fit in our crib, so I thought a flat pad would be easier to take off and put on the mattress. After purposely shrinking the pad, it was just a touch too big. I thought having a mattress pad that was just a touch wider and longer than the mattress, which was such a tight fit, was going to make changing the sheets cumbersome. I ended up returning it (another story but I was disappointed with Naturepedic's customer service) and getting the portable crib pad which is of course much smaller than the mattress, but I'm hoping it covers it sufficiently, at least until the baby is squirming around a lot as she sleeps. I'm not sure why Naturepedic doesn't make their mattress pad just a half-inch shorter and narrower than their mattress.

We started using our crib one year ago and this was the pad we purchased. Numerous washings and it still is in perfect condition! Just purchased another so we didn't have to go padless while it was being washed.
