4.0 out of 5 stars Works on most weeds! April 10, 2010
My Florida weeds were really taking hold and getting ahead of me. Some of our gardens are covered in a gray granite stone and weeds were next to impossible to pull and growing everywhere. After trying our best to pull them by hand, I decided to search around the web for anything other than Roundup or other herbicide that wouldn't eventually kill all living things or at least cause my next dog to have 3 eyes. I had heard of strong solutions of acetic acid (vinegar @ 40 to 50% strength) and it didn't seem to be easily available. One popped up though in Amazon, Nature's Avenger. When I tried to buy it, it was out of stock and so I purchased 2 32oz containers directly from the factory in Georgia (more costly that way for sure).

I waited until a hot sunny day with no chance of rain and started. I mixed the product in my sprayer at a 6 to 1 ratio and applied it generously to all of the weeds along the edges of our fences, throughout the gardens and wherever weeds were popping up through sidewalks etc. I was careful NOT to get it near our grass or any plants that were permanent. We have an 80 x 120 foot lot and I used all 224 oz. That amount was just enough to cover what I needed.

The first thing that I noticed was a very strong orange odour like you were peeling 50 oranges at once in your kitchen. It wasn't a bad smell but it sure was powerful. Within an hour, many of the smaller weeds started to wilt and turn a much darker colour. Within 4 hours, most of those same weeds were black. The next day almost all of the weeds were black and appeared to be dead and a week later had perished for sure. There were some though that seemed to have lived through my herbal cleansing efforts. Most anything that was taller (certain types of grass-like plants) seemed not to have been affected except for some black spots near their edges. Others like the shoots of an Aloe Vera plant were totally unaffected.

In general though, I am pleased with the results. The product has lived up to my expectations and while it didn't wipe out everything it touched, it cleaned up enough to make my weed pulling job much easier. It's also organic and I'm not worried about damaging the environment any more than it already is. In Florida, spraying herbicides like Roundup and Atrazine are totally out of control and I applaud any efforts whatsover to limit their use. Thank you to Cutting Edge Formulations for developing this product. I hope that you can get your production levels up to a point where you can drop the price. At $20.00+ for one application for my little yard alone, it seems pricey.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works....!!!!! April 29, 2009

I started out with the small spray bottle - to make sure I liked the product -- well it works - now I'm buying the concentrate. Originally I applied it in shade and it cleared out all the weeds growing up through a stone pathway (pea gravel)- strong citrus smell lasts for a few moments when applied in large doses but that's it - if you would like to have an alternative to Round Up and Ortho and stop killing and mutating tadpoles and frogs and spoiling the water with excessive chemicals and run off - this product is a good alternative - if every lawn owner got off of chemlawn and scotts 4 step program and used Bradefield Organic Fertilizers, corn gluten and alfalfa we would go a long way to restoring our environment - yes you Mr and Mrs home owner are the one to make the difference - my lawn is just as green as my chemically drenched neighbors - change your habits, try something new and change the world one lawn at a time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works very well September 12, 2009

I'll admit I was skeptical at first, but this stuff really works and I feel better about using it over something like RoundUp. Within an hour of spraying the weeds, they had started to wilt and turn black. A few days later, they were completely dead. I haven't had a problem with the weeds coming back yet. I used it to spray weeds growing in between the cracks in the concrete around our pool. It's pretty pricey but it works.

5.0 out of 5 stars good at 3 and 4 to1 ratio!
Its expensive but works great on sidewalk weeds and garden weeds and is really safe. I have kids and a dog. The ratio needs to be higher to work like the others have said.
