And I can prove it.

Therefore, those taking Vitamin D3 may also wish to consider taking a good Vitamin K2 supplement such as Life Extension Super K with Advanced K2 Complex.

The bottle was perfectly sealed as normal but looked light so I counted them and there are only 124 softgels.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of ten leading Vitamin D3 supplements: Nutrigold Vitamin D3 Gold, Doctor's Best Vitamin D3 5000iu, Now Foods Vitamin D3, Life Extension Vitamin D3, Nature Made Vitamin D3 5000 I.U., Nature's Bounty Vitamin D3, Thorne Research D-5,000, Schiff Mega D3, and Nordic Naturals Vitamin D3.

The major biologic function of vitamin D is to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D aids in the absorption of calcium, helping to form and maintain strong bones. It is used, alone or in combination with calcium, to increase bone mineral density and decrease fractures. Recently, research also suggests that vitamin D may provide protection from osteoporosis, hypertension (high blood pressure), cancer, and several autoimmune diseases.

Sun exposure is an easy, reliable way for most people to get vitamin D. Exposure of the hands, face, arms, and legs to sunlight two to three times a week for about one-fourth of the time it would take to develop a mild sunburn will cause the skin to produce enough vitamin D. The necessary exposure time varies with age, skin type, season, time of day, etc.

People who don't get enough sun, especially people living in Canada and the northern half of the US, are especially at risk. Vitamin D deficiency also occurs even in sunny climates, possibly because people are staying indoors more, covering up when outside, or using sunscreens consistently these days to reduce skin cancer risk.

Older people are also at risk for vitamin D deficiency.

I love this stuff. It really works. And I can prove it. I had 23.2 vitamin D 25 level in November. Very low for my age. And on May 28th 2013 after 2 months of this stuff it is now 36.9. So definitely helping. I recommend this stuff.

My family doctor recommended this product at this level as prudent preventive supplement against cancer.
This is one doctor's instruction that I will follow.

Health Safety Fail!
This company makes utter crap.
Research the ingredients for yourself.
Nasty. Nasty. Nasty.
(Sorry I don't have time right now to post the list and links to prove my claim. But do your due diligence...)

GMO.
The fillers in this formula put a toxic load on the liver.

Please look into Thorne Research Vitamin D (also D/K2 available).
If taking D one Must supplement with Magnesium. This is to protect heart health and prevent migraine.
Utilizing these two forms of magnesium is ideal:
Per os (by mouth): Solgar Magesium Citrate
And
Topically (spray on): Magnesium Oil
By Life Flo or Ancient Minerals or Dr Barbara Hendel's

As of last year- great brands:
(Remember great brands can be sold/subsumed by unethical manufacturers who then change previously top-notch products in order to maximize profits!)

Thorne Research
Pure Encapsulations
Solgar
MegaFood
Rainbow Light

In the two years that we've been taking D3 regularly, we've been much healthier, overall. Cause and effect or coincidence? I don't know, but I'm going to keep taking it. We live in the northern US, so we don't get nearly enough Vitamin D from the sun. I like the 5,000 IU capsules because I only have to take one per day.
