Mara was motivated to write this book because her 36 year old daughter is gravely ill with Chronic Lyme Disease. She has seen firsthand how the current Western health care system has failed in treating these infections and marginalized people because they don't understand the complexity of TBD. In fact, they fail to recognize them.
