This is one product that I keep more on hand than anything else in my house. I was only introduced to it about a year ago, but it is extremely versatile.

Boiling - the product must be boiled before it can be used. 2 parts water brought to boil with 1 part quinoa. Bring back to boil and then turn down to simmer for 9 minutes in a covered pot. Turn off and then let sit for 20 minutes. It will finish absorbing the rest of the water and do all it's tricks to get the white threat exposed. It will be soft and fluffy and ready to use. If you can put it in the fridge overnight and then fluff it up with a fork, this is when quinoa is at it's peak. I keep some in the fridge for whatever I want later.

Dinner - boil in chicken stock and add spices to get something like a healthy rice like product. It has a nutty taste that is brought out by the salts. While still hot, add butter, olive oil, garlic, and some goat cheese. Stir gently till the cheese melts.

Quinoa holds a sauce better than just about any rice or pasta product.

I don't know if it's me or I'm supposed to wash it, (It says its prewashed) but I randomly get gritty sandiness which nobody ever likes in my bites. Other than that it's pretty delicious and healthy when cooked with a broth. But I hate gritty. Bleh.

I eat Quinoa regularly and thought I would toss this bag in a recent Amazon order. I will not order this again. The Quinoa bag had a lot of tiny stones in it and despite my best efforts to rinse and sort, some still made it into my serving bowl. I think this is what other reviewers were describing as "grit". The price was not worth it either. Love Quinoa just not this brand.

This quinoa has a very bitter taste, despite being prewashed. Rinsing it again does not seem to help, though I have found that soaking it for an hour and then rinsing until clean works for the taste. It will not, however, help with the sand. The sand is about the same size as the uncooked quinoa, so there is no way to rinse it out. It is very unpleasant. I hate to waste food, but this is going in the trash.

I've eaten quinoa of other brands many times and like it as a pasta substitute. This quinoa is gritty which I've never encountered with any other kind. It is also bitter, but most of all it gave me an allergic reaction twice and bc I wasn't sure what I ate the day before I woke up with an itchy rash covering my body and my face was so swollen I looked like a cartoon charactature, I ate this stuff again a few months later and woke up with the same reaction! Well it won't get me again. Throwing this junk out and praying the rash and swelling goes away before work on Friday!!
