5.0 out of 5 stars Best toothpaste I've ever used
I certainly cannot claim to have tried every toothpaste out there, but I've tried quite a few! I've tried gel, paste, and powder.
This toothpaste outperforms any other I've tried, even the comparable one made by Tom's of Maine.
When I brush with this, my teeth feel as clean as if I just left the dentist. It "foams" very nicely.
Warning, though. If you...

1.0 out of 5 stars should not be called natural - contains sodium laurel sulfate
They don't mention in the listing that the product contains sodium laurel sulfate. SLS is synthesized by reacting lauryl alcohol with sulfuric acid to produce hydrogen lauryl sulfate which is then neutralized through the addition of sodium carbonate. I don't consider it a natural ingredient and would not have bought it if they had listed it as an ingredient. Otherwise...

Warning, though. If you don't care for anise (the taste of black licorice), don't bother trying this toothpaste. I find the flavor very pleasant, so it is no deterrent to me. I've tried their other flavors of toothpaste, and this particular flavor works the best that I've tried. I can't explain that - it's simply the truth:-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best flavor, December 26, 2011

This review is from: Nature's Gate Natural Toothpaste, Creme de Anise, 6-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 6) (Health and Beauty)
Creme de anise is currently the best tasting toothpaste I have tried recently.
I have replaced Tom's fennel with this brand, after trying various flavors from Jason, Tom, Burt, and an Indian brand.
The flavor is mild and delicate with a hint of sweetness, easily rinsed from the mouth with only a hint of fresh remaining. Does not dry my mouth like other brands. And eating or drinking after brushing my teeth is not nasty.

Seems to clean well, my teeth feel slick and my teeth look clean.

The flavor gets a boost from all the different fruit and root extracts used. Everything from anise and pomegranate to soap bark and grape seed extract. No flavor stands out, nicely balanced.

The box states:
Fluoride free
Paraben free
Sulfate free
No sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate
No artificial colors
No artificial flavors or sweeteners
No animal by products or testing

This toothpaste has fixed my gums...this, after a long trial-and-error of others that irritated my gums. The taste is terrific, and the feeling of clean surpasses all others. It's like a miracle toothpaste considering all the ones I've tried.

For my family, this is the best toothpaste we have ever used. The flavor is great and for that reason it encourages all of us to brush! Checkups have been very good also!
